Stayed here for 4 nights in June 2008 with a friend. We had a delux one bedroom suite - and it was massive! There was a huge bed, with a sliding wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside table with lamp in the bedroom. The living area was large with TV, DVD player, coffee table and fold out sofa bed, which was comfy as both a bed and sofa. There was a large dining table, and a spacious kitchen - with the biggest fridge and microwave I have ever seen. The bathroom was also fine and the shower worked well.
Everything was clean and in good condition. The tilled floors were lovely. We had a private balcony which was nice to sit on for a bit, but overlooked the main street - so wasnt too private! However this is worth it for the location - short walk to the beach, and within walking distance of both Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach. We also walked to Third Street Promenade, although there are plenty of buses if you want them. The staff were friendly, but as our stay was short and we had no problems we had little dealings with them.
There is no pool but its so close to the beach and there is so much to do in Santa Monica this was not a problem at all. With regards to noise we did not notice anything despite it being on a main road. There is also a locked gate before you reach the room doors for added security.
I would deffinately recommend this hotel, I cannot fault it. It exceeded my expectations and would have enough room for a family of 4 comfortably.
