We came to Santa Maria to attend a PCPA performance of Hamlet for Valentines day weekend, so we stayed at this hotel because it was close to our daughter (she is a student at the school). The rooms are spacious and include a mini fridge, sink, and microwave. I especially like the added vanity seating area in the bathroom near the closet. The pool is open all night, and is heated, perfect for our 10-year old. The only down-side was the breakfast. We got there at 9am, and it seemed that all of the food was cold...the warmers were not on. Also there was a banquet room right next to the seating area with the door open, so we had to sit there listening to their conference - probably should keep those doors closed - kind of an uncomfortable experience. Also, the restaurant next door is ok...if you don't mind burned food, and also it was very dingy looking and dirty in there. I didn't think it reflected the Best Western very well. We are glad we chose NOT to have our Valentine's dinner there - We won't eat there again.
