First of all, the Foxen Canyon Wine Trail is definitely worth a visit - beautiful, scenic back country road with many vineyards. Our favorite stop of the day was hands down Rancho Sisquoc. Located about a mile off of Foxen Canyon Road, down a small dirt road, it had a great relaxing scenic setting. We enjoyed it so much we spent several hours here after our tasting enjoying lunch and a bottle of wine at a table outside. (Pick up lunch at Los Olivos Grocery before heading up Foxen Canyon Rd!) The tasting room is cute and rustic, the servers very friendly and laid back, and the wine good. The tasting fee is $8 and you get to keep the stemless glass. You get to taste 6 different wines (there are about a dozen on the list to choose from). We liked every wine we tried here. In addition, the wine is well priced (bottles ranged from about $12-$30). Our favorite was a $12 bottle of Riesling which we purchased to have with our lunch outside afterwards. The Cabernet was also a standout - excellent! Outside there is a large grassy area with picnic tables as well as a covered patio to enjoy lunch or a bottle of wine - nice, peaceful setting. We even joined the wine club at the end - great overall experience!
