“Cordial, Clean, and Comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We have made the Quality Inn our place to stay in Santa Cruz. Our grandsons live here and we visit them often and have used the inn a number of times. The staff is extremely cordial and very accommodating. They make every effort to assist you and create a welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are clean, updated and spacious. Although located on Ocean Street, the rooms are extremely quiet and the beds are very comfortable. The breakfasts are wonderful - quality food with a variety of choice and very tasty. The prices are very reasonable and I would recommend the Quality Inn to all who visit Santa Cruz.

Room Tip: We prefer the rooms on the second level but since we have stayed on both level, any room is good. Th...

Comfy king bed with quality linens typical of embassy suites or Hampton inn. Bathroom ok with great shower. Window in bathroom nice bonus. Bathroom linens ok. It's a beach area and the rooms are clean for the climate. Breakfast rivals that of nicer chain hotels like staybridge suites. Hot eggs, sausage links, waffles, all kinds of breakfast breads, cereal, milk, juices and coffee and yogurt. Excellent service.

Room Tip: 2nd floor in the back- large tiled landing

This place will give you NO problems. It's a little over a mile from the board walk. There are a couple of other places near by to eat and relax. It's close to the freeway. The room, bed, and bathroom are clean. The A/C works and it's not noisy. The area is quite, so you don't have to worry about getting a good night's rest.

Room Tip: Call first before trying to book online. You might get a better deal.

We came for our 1st visit to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk on Monday Aug.4th-Tuesday Aug.5th. 2014
We found a great deal on Trip Advisor for the Quality Inn. The front desk Manager Uptan was very polite and welcomed us graciously. Our Rooom 106, was downstairs. Very comfortable and clean. Two queen beds non-smoking. Bathroom was roomy and clean. Good water pressure. Clean fluffy towels. Beds were also comfortable and clean. Though we slept on top of bedspreads as we brought our own blankets.
Breakfast was nice. Good selection of good including fresh coffee, o.j., apple juice and milk. Food choices included muffin slices, toast, English muffin, Danish, oatmeal, cereal, fresh waffles, yogurt, eggs and sausage.
Upon check out Uptan. Was at the front desk. He was so polite and asked if we had a good stay as he printed my receipt. Pleasantly he remembered our name. He wished us a safe trip home and let us know traffic should be light.
Checking in and out was a snap.
We wiuld happily return to stay again. Thank you Uptan and Quality Inn.

Took a 2 night 3 day trip to Santa Cruz to take our kids to the beach and boardwalk. Decided to try the Quality Inn. The price was reasonable for Santa Cruz. The staff was very accomodating and friendly. The breakfast area is small but the breakfast was pretty good and had more choices than expected. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. We had a lower level unit and had pretty loud guests above us. When we spoke with the hotel front desk and he was willing to get us into a second story room. Second night was comfortable and quiet. Close to the boardwalk, beach and shopping. I gave it 4 stars because the rooms could use some repairs and TLC. Over all it was fine.

Room Tip: Be sure to get an upper unit.

Needed a place to stay in Santa Cruz and my choices were either “dives” or resorts. I booked a room at the Quality Inn based on reviews and crossed my fingers. The hotel is just far enough away from downtown to make weekend traffic manageable, but close enough to still enjoy the atmosphere. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was well stocked with a great variety (waffles, sausage, friend eggs, cereal, oatmeal, coffee, juices, toast, English muffin, pastries, muffins, hard boiled eggs, yogurt and fruit). Mr. Patel, the Franchise Manager, was always available and willing to help with any requests or help needed.

This hotel is old but has been refurbished. The room was clean and looked like everything had been updated recently.
It is right on Ocean Street which is the main drag going to the Boardwalk. We thought we would have a problem with traffic noise so we got a room in the rear. We never heard any traffic at all.
The hotel is 1 block from Santa Cruz Diner which is open late.
The breakfast was ok and enough to keep me satisfied until lunch.
Overall a good place to spend 1 or 2 nights for a reasonable price.
