Love this place! Love the desk staff! Love the breakfast! Love the rooms! The manager AWESOME!!! He is always aware of whats going on, even if it seems like hes not~ and hes ON IT!!! Everyone who works there seems to enjoy their jobs and have all worked there for a while. They are so friendly and helpful!!! I love this place and always recommend it! Ive stayed at almost every motel in Santa Cruz and have worked at a few too. Its the best in the area~without a doubt! Its offers friendliest service~for sure! The rates are reasonable and are the same for everyone. All the other motels change rates based on customers appearance(which I have experienced as a customer & have been ordered to do as an employee @ others in the area)! They are as welcoming to your pet, as they are you and do not discriminate against large breeds or type of breed, which makes traveling with your dog, so much easier! Most of the pet rooms are on the first floor and have a sliding glass door that gives you direct access to the parking lot~much more convenient for walking your dog. The parking lot is secure with a fence all the way around and the back gate is closed and locked at night to ensure your vehicle and you are safe~and its very well lit at night,but does NOT shine through the window and wake you. Its surrounded by bushes for privacy from the main roads! Breakfast is great asnd goes until 10am! Pool and 2 hot tubs with restrooms in the pool area,so you dont have to run all the way back to your room and get everywhere all wet~and can worry less that someone might pee in the pool!. Its 1 block from downtown, 2 from beach/Boardwalk. You can walk your dog at the river levee or new, huge dog park half a block away! No street noise or heavy traffic and theres laundry machines!! I stay here a lot~ am on a first name basis with the staff and definitely recommend it if youre comingto Santa Cruz!!!

After experiencing extremely unfortunate circumstances involving a housing situation when relocating, I selected this hotel for several reasons. The biggest was it accepted dogs (with no breed or weight restrictions.) And, the staff was very good to my dog. The other reasons include: The nightly rate was more than reasonable in spite of the extra charge for a pet. (However, after observing the hotel manager having to pick upon after guests pets, I can certainly appreciate the need for the extra fee! This manager did the "extra maintenance" willingly, but he should not have had to.) The location could not have been more convenient. It is just a few blocks to the Santa Cruz Beach & Boardwalk. There is also a terrific stretch called the San Lorenzo River Walkway where I walked the dog. I understand there is now a dog park at that same location so well worth staying at this hotel for that perk! However, there was a nice side yard with grass for the dog if I wasn't able to get her out for a walk. From the first day and on, the front desk staff was incredibly polite, very helpful and always willing to accommodate my needs. The desk is also staffed 24 hours a day so someone is always available. Maintenance upon the grounds was excellent. That staff performed the work with subtlety and never at the expense of guests. The housekeeping staff was not only efficient cleaning my room, but also each took pride in HOW the room was cleaned. The continental breakfast was exceptional, well stocked (nice selection of breads, pastries, waffle maker, coffee, tea & juice) and the entire area kept clean. The hotel also has two washers/dryers for a very inexpensive fee. The pool was awesome and well maintained as was the hot tub. Finally, I felt very safe. The back gates to the parking lot are locked and the staff keeps a close eye on who enters and exits after dark. Overall, I am extremely happy I chose to stay here. I highly recommend letting this hotel serve you during ANY stay short or long!

We go to Santa Cruz several times a year to visit my son. We have stayed at several hotels. Now that we discovered Days Inn, we won't go anywhere else. The service and price can't be beat! We were upgraded to a suite with no additional charge. The free breakfast is great...waffles!! :-) There are two jacuzzis. Who can ask for more? The front desk people are very friendly and helpful, especially Ash. Good location, free Wi-Fi, cable TV, etc. Highly recommend.
