This is a small, but long established place, specializing in local, fresh ingredients and house made products -- their Focaccia bread and cured meats are favorites. The menu is not enormous, but changes weekly according to local availability and the seasons. You can count on properly cooked, really fresh fish and a variety of meat dishes; there is always at least one vegetarian main dish. It has a good wine list and many available by the glass. The proprietor is often seating guests himself and will happily discuss his wines and make recommendations.
The price of main courses is between $17 and $32.
There are a number of special events at this restaurant, most recently inaugurated: a "Salon evening" about once a month features a local person, (e.g. this month, C. Burke, author of a new, very well reviewed, biography of Edith Piaf) talking, or reading from their work and engaging in discussion with interested parties sitting around.
