Supper friendly. Shuttle service to take you & collect you when you call. Very clean. Home of the Santa Cruz Warriors so you might bump into some of the team. Great bar & pool area. Rooms very cozy. Would recommend although a decent walk to the main street but with the shuttle it's not an issue.

What was once a motel, has been remodeled into a very nice, boutique feeling, motel. (It's hard to call it a hotel as the room doors open to the outside, not an enclosed hall) The lobby is very nice and check in was a breeze. The pool area almost feels like old school Vegas. The rooms are very nice with high end beds, furniture, bathrooms, etc...

The renovation of an old Holiday Inn was done well enough that you don't even notice. I wish we could have stayed longer. Would have been nice to know that there was a charge for parking before I was given the bill upon checking out

I think this place is fantastic. The reception area was great staff was very welcoming. Just as advertised it is a large enough hotel but has the feeling of a smaller boutique hotel. Yes the rooms are based on a motel layout but the rooms are wonderful quite roomy modern décor great work area well appointed, bed was super. You can't access the rooms without a key as it is surrounded by iron fencing which I thought was a nice touch. We also ate at the restaurant and the food was fantastic I will review that under restaurants but I would highly recommend both. As an added note this would be a great place to host an event or meeting well laid out to accommodate either type of event. If you don't want to be looking over the pool the odd numbers seem to be on the outside toward the parking and the even numbers are faced toward the pool courtyard. We stayed on an outside room was nice and quiet love the little sitting area outside the room nice touch.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is staying in the Santa Cruz area. We were originally booked to stay at a different place, but when we got there it was awful, so we headed out at about 10:30pm in search of another option. We came across the Hotel Paradox after trying many others that were already full, and they were very friendly and quickly found us two rooms. What a wonderful experience this was! The room was clean, beautiful, and unique, and the bed was SUPER comfortable, and it was very quiet. The only drawback is the fact that it is not in the best part of Santa Cruz, but the property is securely gated in and they had security on the premises, so I did not feel we were in danger at all. I would definitely stay there again!

We came for a quick romantic getaway and had a great time. The room was small but very clean, super modern and very functional. The bed was comfy and the sheets smelled so clean, which is a big plus for me! It was easy to find and close to all the sights downtown and beachside. They had a security guard in the parking lot which helped us rest easy. The rooms were very quiet. We are early to bed............early to risers, and we heard nothing late at night....no doors or toilets flushing! Yay for the Paradox. We would definitely return. The one thing that I would say was a little disappointing was they didn't have a complimentary breakfast. No worries. Santa Cruz was full of wonderful restaurants.
