For a motel/inn experience, this was good. We had a very small room but it was clean and the wood floors and granite bathroom counter added a nice look and feel. There was a coffee maker, small fridge and microwave which served the two of us well. The bathroom had a terrible sewer smell unless we shut the tub/sink drains. We paid just $60 a night and ate at the continental breakfast a couple times (it was like 7-11 fare). One night a neighboring room had some partying folk (loud singing, yelling, smashing bottles). The area is not upscale but also not bad. If you like to walk, the distance to the boardwalk is about a mile. Very close to Trader's and Whole foods.

We brought our own pillows and tea/coffee (thank you Starbucks Via!) and travel mugs so that made it more comfortable. Easy WiFi hookup and connection. Friendly staff.

I checked that I would recommend this inn to a friend but want to say that with a caveat: it depends on my friend! If you are in for a simple, no frills room to lay your head at night and will be active and occupied during the day, then this is your place. If you want an "experience" from your lodging, then I'd suggest paying more and choosing another place.

Six weeks I stayed here while searching for housing. The staff are kind smart and caring. Rooms beautiful. Every room slightly different some have tubs others not. Safe neighborhood. Eat at lucio's on corner of ocean and soquel. Get massage in same shopping center as restaurant, called healthfoot 25 dollars for an hour of deep Thai massage. Unbelieveable. Go back and sleep in comfort at continental inn. I felt lucky to be there especially after seeing other hotels no where as nice but more expensive. Show gratitude to them because they put up with a lot of questions from tourists.

I was expecting a cheesy motel. Instead, it was a very clean and pleasant place. The room was excellent and roomy considering we had two children with us. Very close to everything. I would stay here again.

Clean, practical quiet rooms. I have always felt very safe at this hotel. Courteous staff. Close to (within walking distance) of major area attractions.
