“Magic Mountain Resting Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2012

After the family spent the day standing in lines and riding roller coasters, it felt good to check into a hotel with a comfortable size suite and beds. There were 5 of us in the room so the hide-a-bed was a blessing. The next morning we had a nice breakfast w/ fruit, cereal, waffles, and eggs cooked as requested (though my omlet was a bit overdone). The hotel is a couple of miles from Magic Mountain and numerous restaraunts and shops.

This is a great stop at the end of a long day of driving if you are going to the LA area. We stopped here on the way to the Rose Bowl this year and it was perfect. Great rooms, pool and a chance to stop before we hit the LA traffic. In the morning it was an easy drive to the Rose Bowl again without the LA traffic. It is a newer Embassy Suites and super clean and modern.

We came here primarily for the business in the near vicinity. The place was quiet, no highway noise, though the easiest access I have seen in a while to a highway! Even with a rocking party going on downstairs it was very quiet once we entered our room. Reception was helpful and complimentary evening managers reception was pleasant. Morning breakfast was exemplary. Only experienced the restaurant at the group dinners which was...wow. :) Fresh vegetables and well cooked meats and sides. Everything done (not overdone), hot and tasty. Rooms were clean, comfy, and tidy.

Had someone drop water outside our room and reception called up to see if we had a leak. We did not, but it was nice to see the quick response to issues.

Internet was available in room via physical connection, which was nice with the laptop. WiFi was intermittent to the Playbook in the room, but when I asked the front desk, they said the best signal was in the lobby area. (which was large and had lots of places to sit)

The only downsides are that you have to drive somewhere to get to more restaurants and shopping and if my husband had gone alone there was no way to make sure he got up. There was a large group of cochlear implant people for the meetings and only 2 ADA kits. Not stellar for a place located directly across from Advanced Bionics. (PS I got him a flashing alarm clock for next time) Primarily a wake up call for me to make sure he has more freedom in travel.

We stayed at this hotel on December 26th with a plan to visit Magic Mountain for one day. The hotel was in beautiful condition and we had four of us in a two room suite. The manager's reception was great, the outdoor pool was heated and they actually had a restaurant on-site so you didn't have to leave (we ordered two of the flat bread pizzas - yum!). We were on the third floor and it was relatively quiet (we could hear people loudly walking by in the hallway). We always travel with earplugs because you never know what to expect. The breakfast the following morning was smooth and we booked the shuttle to Magic Mountain. The Embassy Suites shuttle was very timely and the way to go (parking at MM is $15). No complaints, I would stay here again without thinking twice. One comment - do not forget to tip the staff at the manager's reception and breakfast - staff works hard and I'm sure they appreciate any little extra.

I loved the water pressure and the various settings on that shower head. Haha...the first thing I talk about is the shower and the water pressure. Anyways, the room was great - the usual 2-room. Wifi is extra, cooked-to-order breakfast is included, and you've got free parking.

Breakfast should be longer or at least staggered at different times for guests. There seemed to be way too many people there having breakfast. I think guests from the Courtyard next door were there too. There's no way to check to make sure you're actually staying there. We ended up eating in a sitting/lounging area because it was crowded.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor and somewhat closer to the elevators. Also, ask for a room with a view of the...

Great place rooms were smaller than other Embassy suites bad have everything the others have
we were on the 2nd floor but on the final night we had people which sounded like running above us for hours, so I would ask for a top floor room
reception was great and very friendly
breakfast was very good but missing muffins and danish as we have had at other embassy suites
rooms were very clean but contained little bit of damage small things but these will need to be kept up to maintain the hotel looking fresh
nice looking heated pool!
close to magic mountain which is why we stayed this is why I thought is was

Room Tip: ask for top floor

The price was right. But imagine a medocore Days Inn or Comfort Suite version of Embassy Suites.

We stayed four nights in 3 different rooms. First night Hotwire, then next night on our own so had to move rooms, extended another two nights and were moved again.

ROOMS - Beds were comfortable. The rooms were not updated and well worn. Torn carpet, broken lamps, worn cushions on couch, and scratched furniture. The pull out sofa bed was badly stained and would not be comfortable for more than one person for more than one night.

SERVICE -- The service was poor as the property seemed badly under staffed. Again think Franchise Motel quality. We were hard pressed to get our room cleaned or even non dairy creamer for our coffee at Obbreakfast even though we asked several times and spoke with management.

FOOD -- We ate all our meals on property all four days. The food was hit and miss. Some things were goods, others merely ok. Again service was poor to being under staffed. The even receptions were a JOKE with stale chips with Nacho sauce and Chex Mix as all that was put out. And even those ran out without being refilled.

WORST PART OF ALL -- The front desk manager came to our room at 9 pm saying our credit card would not work. I thought he was going to throw us out considering how upset he was. I logged on my computer and saw where they had exhausted my credit limit with authorizations totally many hundreds more than our bill totaled. I spent the rest of the night creating an Excel spreadsheet and printing out copies if my credit card charges to doent their errors. They owed us $600+. It was a mess and very stressful.

WATCH YOUR BILL AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE LOTS OF CREDIT AVAAE FOR ALL THEIR BILLING ERRORS.
