If you have a few hours to kill but don't want to be in a crowd, take a self-directed tour of the Santa Clara University campus. You can visit the museum, the new Learning Center (what used to be the library), or just walk around the campus. It is not a huge campus, but it is open and free, not like some other campuses which are practically fenced in like a prison. It takes a while to see everything because you will want to stop at almost every building and admire the architecture, the landscaping, and even the parking structure has a beautiful facade which makes it look like a large office building. Everything is maintained well. If you have any questions you can ask the many friendly students who are walking along.
