At first I was cringing when I saw the price of the room, but after staying here it was totally worth it. Besides the location and the cute rooms, the staff was extremely helpful. It was our first time visiting Santa Barbara and valet guy directed us to a great Italian place for dinner. Then while my sister and i were searching for what to do in SB and trying to figure out how we were going to make it to the airport the receptionist came to our rescue and helped direct us to a walking wine trail that was fun and affordable, she also booked us transportation to get us to the airport on time. The receptionist, Marissa, definitely knows the must see places in SB and went out of her way to help us. We look forward to coming back again and maybe this time I can convince my sister to rent out some bikes.

We took a long time deciding on a hotel in Santa Barbara since all were really expensive . We chose this for the location, knowing nothing Of Santa Barbara and did not hold out for much since it was a chain and seemed overpriced.
It turned out to be one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in on our Californian vacation. The ambience, and amenities were excellent and the location was fabulous, just off State street. We could not have asked for more. Hotels are still overpriced in the area but it seems that the prices are all the same , so go for this one.

My wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Santa Barbara as one of our stops along our amazing road trip from San Francisco to LA. This hotel is right off of State Street, so it is very close to all the shops, restaurants and the beach. It had a lot of character giving it a great California vibe. The room we stayed in happened to be on the first floor and there was a lot of noise throughout the night. If I stayed here again I would request a room in the back and on a higher floor. Breakfast was basic, but good. Parking was easy as there were 2 parking lots. The room was very modern and clean (standard room).

We stayed for a weekend while visitng family in town. The room was pricey ($300) for a small room, but it was just off lower State and it was move-in weekend for UCSB freshman. The staff were all very pleasant and the breakfast was quite good both mornings with nice variety (a pancake machine, eggs, breakfast meat, very tasty cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, bagels, etc). There was a bar across the street which seemed very loud when we entered the building, but was not a problem at all in the rooms. Parking is tight, but available at $9/nt. One in our party chose to park on the street and had no trouble. The rooms were equipped with a mini-fridge and microwave.
All in all a pleasant stay.
