“Primo Spot near the beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

This hotel has all the characteristics for creating the perfect beach holiday in Santa Barbara: its clean, its nice and near the beach. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Only downside was the inability to check in early and its a little pricey at $150+tax, but worth the money.

I followed the advice from Trip Advisor contributors and booked this lovely place right in the best location in Santa Barbara and I wasn't disappointed. Dan was very patient with my questions and very helpful with directions to the Santa Barbara Bowl. Although our room backed on a busy street, the windows kept the noise to a minimum and sleeping was easy as the traffic dissipated about 9 pm. Our room made us feel like we were in Provence and so did the breakfast! Super fresh coffee and pastry. The attention to detail here was extraordinary and appreciated. We loved taking a walk to Stearns Pier which is just down the street. A lovely experience!

Room Tip: The rooms on Castillo Street can be a little noisy. If this bothers you, make arrangements for the...

We were very disappointed to learn the "access" to a pool and fitness centre on their website referred to a public pool (costs apply and limited swim times) and a health club up the road you have to pay for.

We booked the hotel for a relaxing time for the children to chill out by the pool as a break from our road trip. We arrived a bit too late for the beach so the kids were looking forward to a heated pool. Big disappointment.

Reception staff offered only our checkout time when we arrived, no mention of breakfasts etc. very unhelpful. We resorted to asking the hotel next door for restaurant ideas, and they even gave us a discount voucher for a steak house! Adjacent hotels also had pools.

On the plus side, the room was very nice and clean and it is close to the beach. I saw from other reviews, some rooms must have kitchen spaces, ours didn't. Basically a motel room.

Very friendly and home feel- clean- great value for money in the area- 2 adults and 3 kids fit fine in the room- we are picky and we liked the place for the price. Dan is the owner- nice helpful guy- you could do a lot worse and pay much more for a room

We lucked out in getting a suite there at the last minute. It was a great location and very nice place to stay. It accommodated 2 couples and a baby well. There was a nice little kitchen along with a table that folded up out of the way and stools in the living room. Good use of a small space. Air conditioner was a little noisy but i I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Room Tip: We stayed in a very nice suite next to the office. Both bedrooms are to the back so we didn't no...

This is a really nice place to stay. The location is walking distance to the beach, State St. Sleep comfort of the queen sized beds was really good too.

Room was updated and attractive.

Breakfast was adequate and got us off to a good morning.

The only problem we saw was a lack of a safe in the room. With the room being right on the road rather than interior hallways, we would have expected a safe. Not a huge issue, but something the management may want to consider.

We arrived in Santa Barbara quite late and very happy to find that this place was very nicely located and that the room was very clean and nice. It was very calm and quiet, something I had missed during our trip in the bigger cities. Everything is within walking distance and the beach is right across the street. Only slight minus is the breakfast, which is basically just some muffins and fruit, but the staff were kind enough to point that out already upon arrival so we went for a proper brunch instead. Stay here, I am sure you will love it!
