What a great place! Beautiful recepcao area with comfortable chairs to rest and enjoy the view of the ocean, bike path and palm trees!
From the rooms, you can enjoy the sunset and have a view to the pool and jacuzzi! Righ in front of the hotel, you can get the trolley and have a great experience to go by Cabrillo St (famous street by the beach) an go up to State St (main street) and have an amazing time in downtown Santa Barbara! Ps. It is just 0.50 cents wich way! :) Thank you Santa Barbara Inn!

I first want to say, the room was beautiful and the bed very comfortable. I loved everything about the room itself. However, the hotel is situated on Cabrillo, a very busy street, and because there is no A/C in the room (not really necessary on the beach), the windows and slider need to be open. Busy street + open windows = noisy environment. Fortunately, the street quiets down after about 11:00 p.m. and we slept pretty well (could hear the waves crashing once the traffic quieted down). The staff was very pleasant and helpful, and the valet parking was only $7 a day. Woo hoo! It is just too bad the hotel couldnt be situated on the other side of Cabrillo, right on the beach! BTW: not so sure you can find any hotel in this area that doesn't deal with the problem of noise from traffic on Cabrillo.

Room Tip: Get an ocean view room! The balconies and the furniture on them are very nice.

have stayed several times at santa barbara inn. love the direct access across the street to the beach. you can hear the ocean from room. rooms are clean, great views if you choose one of the suites or we like the pool rooms which glass doors open up to the pool. hot tub open till late. continental breakfast good, valet parking great.. we had the most accomodating valet. if you want to get to restraunts it is a bit of a walk. we usually take a cab much easier. if you want ocean views, quiet than this is the hotel you will want to choose in sb.

Room Tip: suites are a little more expensive but well worth the money.. great views from here

We stayed at the Catalina Island Suite which was a treat in itself, there's 180 degree view windows and balcony that overlook the palm trees, the bike path and the blue ocean out front. I almost didn't want to leave the room, which was super comfy, huge mirrors, dining table, great shower, huge tv screen, beautiful and comfy bed and 2 sets of amazingly comfortable chairs and coffee table in the balcony. One could read for hours sitting on that chair. Beautiful sunset lighting from that vantage point. Great for a glass of wine at the end of the day, that balcony... It's pretty mesmerizing! The view from the room is one of the reasons you came to that hotel and to Santa Barbara. There's something about putting on a white robe and walking to the jacuzzi at the hotel that screams "vacation" all over it! Specially if u stop by to get some quality coffee (which is available 24/7 in the lobby) and watch the swaying palm trees surrounding the pool area! Everyone in the hotel was super friendly and helpful, and I had the pleasure of meeting Ed, the General Manager - great person! The place was clean, comfortable and there's so much history in it, people don't realize that at first. I am looking forward to go back, someday... Thank you SB Inn for creating unforgetful memories!

This hotel has a great staff, super valet parking attendants. Just ask them about restaurants area and they can tell you. The location is great and just down the street behind it a great little grocery store with Wine, beer and everything you need. Hotel is getting ready to spend $12 million on renovation that starts in October. At night leave you sliding door open and listen to the ocean and the seals in the morning.

The location is a little ways away from the hustle and bustle of downtown and pier, so if you want a quieter area, this is nice. Also near zoo. Beach right across the street, so that is nice. View of beach is great.
But, pool area and rooms are run down. Pool small and very average. Room had cracking and peeling tiles in bathroom and carpet was older. Thus, if you are picky about your room I wouldn't choose this hotel.

Hotel has a great location just off CA101. Compulsary valet parking 7$ a night which is acceptable. Walking into Santa Barbara using the beach side is quite an experience, since there are a lot of homeless people calling that spot there home... 20 minutes of power walk to get to the main pier. Walking back after sunset does not feel safe... Hotel itself: simple complimentary breakfast (with a stunning view) will get your day started. The room we stayed in had nice side view of the ocean and was next to the Sundeck (nice place for a pic-nic). Inside, I had difficulty breathing because of my dust allergies, so we ended up opening all windows and putting a scented product to avoid the 'dusty smell'. Room really needs to be redone. Friendly staff.
