Expensive room with deficiencies. Tub drain clogged, inadequate seating and lighting. Not what we expected from other TripAdvisor reviews. Housekeeping generally not up to snuff. No complimentary AM food service. Excellent location on waterfront boulevard.

I had a very good experience with the staff when there was a problem with my reservation. Usually, I expect hotels to be very strict about their reservation policy, but they were understanding and kind when I explained the situation. I would definitely make this my first choice for a hotel next time I plan to visit SB.

We spent three nights here in a standard room. Our balcony did not have a great view, In fact, it overlooked mostly other sections of the complex, but it was not our focus to sit out on the balcony and our location may have meant it was quieter by not facing the street. That being said, our room was spacious and comfortable with a sitting area, desk, and very large closet to stash the suitcases away. Bathroom is spacious, large tub and great water pressure in the shower. Decor is attractive, bed comfortable, complimentary bag of pistachios waiting for us in the room with a welcome note on our arrival, and chocolates at bedtime.

The location was great--on the corner of State St and W Cabrillo Blvd, with the beach and pier directly across the street and easy access to shopping on State St via the trolley, although we did not take advantage of it ourselves.

We only ate at the restaurant once for breakfast and it was fine. You can also visit the Starbucks around the corner and charge it to your room. We were more interested in sampling downtown restaurants, of which there are many, so were not inclined to try dinner.

We'd stay here again if given the opportunity.

Room Tip: Standard room, while lacking a good view, was very quiet.

Perfect beachfront location and comfortable room. Needs some updating. Didn't visit the restaurant as despite the great location it looked outdated and lacking atmosphere. A little investment in it would make a huge difference. I also just felt like the staff were probably as miserable as those in the reception and didn't want to deal with that. I get the feeling from the staff that whoever manages this place wouldn't be a great person to work for.

I sorry that our front desk staff was not up to yours and our standards, I did check to see who you interacted with and one of the girls had been under the weather. We are a family owned hotel I have run it for the last 19 years and we have very very little turn over as our repeat guests know. Our Restaurant is scheduled for a remodel starting December 17 this year. I hope you come back and visit us again. I Thank-you for taking the time to write a review all reviews are important to us.

Right at the foot of State St, across the road from the beach.
The beach is right out the front door, trolly to take you up State St picks up just across the street.

The Beach here is nice and sandy, but gets uglier the closer you get to the water. There is a fair amount of tar in the sand and water due to the proximity of the harbor and offshore oil rigs.

The ground floor rooms that face the pool have sliders that open onto the lawn, and this area has a very nice tropical feel. Perfect for families with kids.

The pool faces the beach and has a small snack bar that is open for nightly happy hours.
Rooms are spacious and clean, and the staff is accommodating.
Overall a very nice place to stay. A bit overpriced, but that is life inside the Santa Barbara bubble.

The restaurant is okay but head up State St.for better fare.

Really loved our stay at this hotel, it was our 25th Anniversary and had been touring round and this was our 4th hotel and the end of our holiday. The hotel was friendly, the room upgrade was great, lovely and spacious with a lovely big bath and shower. The room was big and the bed comfy. We had a nice view from our balcony, could see the sea and was overlooking the main street but was not noisy at all.The check in staff even sent us a lovely chilled bottle of wine to enjoy as it was our 25th which was a lovely touch, thank you.The pool was good and enjoyed the hot tub was quiet when we were there not sure if it gets busy as it was late afternoon. The spa was really good, quiet there aswell.Would love to visit Santa Barbara again and would stay at the Harbor View as it is so central, perfect really.

Room Tip: If you can get a delux room as they are a bit bigger.

We spent two nights in this hotel in october. There was an award for Trip Advisor at the reception: this was looking good!! We were right away upgraded in a bigger suite, upon our arrival.
The room was large, spotless, with a private balcony, a huge bathroom: everything looks like new or perfectly renovated. The best comfort you can expect. For a few dollars a day, you can enjoy an indoor parking.
The place is right in front of the pier, and next to State street, well known for shopping and dining..You can park your car and enjoy. Everything is close, right in front of the ocean. You can ride a bike for two or four people, at the corner of the street and enjoy the bike walk.
Santa Barbara is pricy for hotel stays. Our room was offered almost half price in october...
