“Quiet, Comfortable Beachfront Retreat”

The Fess Parker is a "home away from home" resort. It has all the amenities you could need - comfortable, spacious rooms; great onsite restaurants, bar and coffee shop; and beautiful outdoor spaces with a nice pool. We stayed there four days and often found ourselves not leaving the resort, even though the beach, wharf and shopping is within walking distance. Service is personalized and prompt, and the massages we received at the onsite spa were an added bonus. Families tend to dominate the pool; my only recommendation for management is to tighten rules around children in the jacuzzi (it's somewhat of a kiddie pool) and provide drink service to sunbathers.

Room Tip: Oceanside rooms are the best. Otherwise, try to get a room looking into the courtyard.

Hotel was wonderful, with a caring and friendly staff.

We did ask for a few things in the room prior to our arrival, like a roll-away bed and extra pillows, and the Desk did acknowledge our request upon check-in, however, we had to ask three more times before the items were finally delivered. On the other hand, we did arrive on Thanksgiving Day, so I'm sure they were quite busy.

However, the room was wonderful (we booked a two-queen bed room that was "slightly larger" than normal, and they did deliver on the size. Perfect for our family of five.

We have been coming to this hotel for the past 10 years or so. The location is wonderful, across the street from the beautiful sands of Santa Barbara, a short walk to the pier, some wine tasting in Anacapa Street and other places. Wonderful views from some of the rooms and the hotel rooms are nice and comfortable and its a dog friendly hotel, which makes it a plus for us. The property is huge and the staff is very friendly, they usually give a warm cookie at check in which is a nice detail.
My only feedback would be (and this is after all these years of going there), that the property or at the very least, the pool area, needs a little remodel. There's only one hot tub which is entirely full at most times and actually feels quite gross to get in because of the amount of people in it. The paint is chipped off in this area too, and there was really no staff around here.
Even with that, we will still come back as it is a great value place, and one can always find something that needs a little improvement, right?

Beautiful property facing the ocean, large, comfortable rooms, variety of sizes of rooms, some with fire places, super dog friendly, relaxed but well appointed common areas. Good food, too.
Ideally located - close (walking distance) to State St area of Santa Barbara - enjoy the restaurants, shopping and museums. About 45 min. from Wine Country, too.

Room Tip: check out the fireplace rooms in winter months, and suites - sometimes on sale!

Overall a decent stay. The property is huge! My room was great though. Decent size and a wonderful view of the ocean. I was in the main building and it was a hike to get to the stairs or the elevator.
The breakfast buffet was $25 a person, but the selection and service was great!
My room was super clean with high end products They have wood shutters on the windows/sliding door, they are nice but be careful they can be delicate. I really think Doubletree brands need to start including a refrigerator in their rooms. It seems so common in "lesser" properties, they need to step up and offer this to their guests.
Housekeeping was top notch too. Great sheets and bed. I didn't get a cookie though when I checked in. :(

Santa Barbara was a highlight of recent visit to L.A. area. We decided to make the Pacific Coast Highway drive and spend the night in Santa Barbara. The resort is beautiful and the front desk staff, valets and restaurant servers were wonderful. The rooms were very clean, had comfy beds, great towels and spectcuar view. We only wished we were staying longer to enjoy the spa and pool area. Our next visit will definitely include a stay at this resort and a visit to Fess Parker's Winery.

The conference was for 110 people and the hotel dealt with the numerous problems with ease. The catering was timely and the value for money was good for the receptions, banquet dinner, and the breakfasts and breaks. A nice experience for all participants with many extremely happy attendees.

The hotel is located in a beautiful setting with both views of the beach and the mountains.
