We only stayed one night because we were visiting friends in Goleta. The hotel staff was very friendly as we made reservations directly with them. We had a gift certificate for one night in a garden suite, and there was no problem redeeming it. We had a pool side view set in a garden area. Although we didn't use the pool, it was larger than most. Breakfast was fine--except the door didn't automatically close, and it happened to be a cold morning. This is right off the freeway. We found it quiet. If you want to stay in the city, this isn't for you.

Room Tip: There is no elevator to the second floor.

Dear Adrizin,

Thank you for mentioning how friendly our staff was to you and your family during your stay with us. It is our goal to always offer VIP Service to all of our guests, and it sounds like we did just that. It sounds like you were able stay in one of our Superior Gardenside guest rooms which over look our lush gardens and freshwater lagoons with the Ducks, Turtles, Koi, Goldfish, and Sticks the Egret.

Hopefully when you return to beautiful Santa Barbara, you will choose to stay with us again.

I stayed in this hotel for one night only with a party of 6.

let's begin! the location is just off the ramp of highway 101. Quite odd because it's not really santa barbara the city, it's a bit on the outskirt of Santa Barbara. There is an IHOP chain right across the street and at the same time there is a gas station right in front of the main lobby. What a combo! The front-desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The small pond with the garden and heated swimming pool were also welcomed. The best thing for me is this little hotel offered free wi-fi in the room. Not even Marriott in San Fransisco does this! Throughout the complex, it was clean and tidy. But that's all about the nice things this hotel can offer.

The decor is like going back to the 80's with dated carpet, half-working water fountain, old pictures, and very noisy vending and ice machines. No elevator found so if you have to haul your suitcase to the second floor like I had to, good luck. the room is similarly dated and very old fashioned. The bathroom is well-stocked but again dated. I guess a major refurbishment is badly needed to really boost the popularity of this hotel. Breakfast was an understated affair served in a small room that looks more like staff cafetaria than a hotel restaurant.

All in all, it was an okay place to sleep for one night. but i won't be staying longer than that.

Dear NLY39739,

Thank you for your review, we are sorry that you did not find our 3 Time Ramada Worldwide Award Winning Hotel as nice and enjoyable as most of our guests do when they stay with us. We appreciate knowing that you did find our staff friendly and helpful and that you also enjoyed our lush gardens and lagoon with the Ducks, Turtles, Koi, Goldfish, and Sticks the Egret. We also appreciate reading that you enjoyed the Free High Speed Internet, and that you found everything clean and tidy.

Our hotel is locally owned and operated and we have chosen not to change our look to copy all of the computer models that choose colors and décor for all of the cookie cutter newer hotels. We have and continue to win awards for our lush tropical gardens and freshwater lagoons and out colors and rooms match our tropical feel. We are known by many as an oasis in Santa Barbara and as the Best Value Hotel in the Santa Barbara/Goleta area. We serve a great delicious Deluxe Continental Breakfast but do not have a restaurant on the property. This is a great way for our guests to start the day with fresh pastries, coffee cakes, bagels, fresh fruit, yogurt, hot and cold cereal, premium juice, coffee, tea, and everyone’s favorite, our made to order waffles.

We hope that you do return to Santa Barbara in the future, and would be happy if you once again choose to stay with us. Our recommendation would be to call in advance since we do tend to Sell Out most weekends.
