“Wonderful hospitality and inclusions, great value.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

We arrived just as the complimentary wine and cheese tasting was starting in the lobby, to be greeted by the incredibly friendly and helpful William. We checked into our room, with complimentary DVD library and bottle of Californian bubbles, the room being nicely set up with all we needed. The exterior is a little dated, but cleanliness and function were top notch..
A later return to the lobby saw us enjoy the offering of fresh cookies and pastries (yum!) while we got some great walking tour advice from William.
The next day we enjoyed breakfast, and while checking out arranged free bike hire for 4 hours from the lovely Jane at the front desk. Make use of the bikes, a ride along the beachfront and the main State Street was a great tonic.
BDM is. Great find, book and enjoy!

Great location 2 blocks from the beach. (About a 10 minute walk to the main section of town) Comfortable, large rooms. Incredibly friendly employees, free parking, free bike rentals, pool, bottle of champagne on arrival. Theres a tasty cheese/wine happy hour and milk cookies at night. Breakfast was a little limited, but still tasty. Would definitely go back. Great value for the area - when i booked the room, it was actually cheaper than the Holiday Inn, and I got way more value too.

When we checked in William was so welcoming which was indicative of the overall ambience of this excellent hotel. The rooms are excellent and location excellent with a short walk to the harbor. William recommended we dine at Brophy's. The service was excellent and food well worth the short wait. The kitchen was well appointed but joinery a little dated- no deterrent to a wonderful hotel experience. Would certainly return if ever in Santa Barbara again

Brisas del Mar is fantastic. The bed was very comfortable, large rooms. The happy hour and milk and cookie service is a nice touch. Its location is close to downtown and the ocean. Great price. I would stay here again.

Simply a great value. They have nice enough rooms, a good breakfast, wine and cheese from 4 to 6, and then cookies from 6 to 8. Throw in the free bike rentals and it's an all out effort to provide a great experience. The location is fantastic. I took a 35 minute casual walk and was able to get to the beach and all the way to the pier and back. It's about 3 blocks off the beach right by the marina. The bike rentals were simply great. The only criticisms would be rooms a bit dated and that other guests had access to pool decks right outside the suites living room window. When we opened our window blinds, there were always people there either having breakfast in the morning or sunbathing in the day. I mean right outside your window but that would only seem to be an issue with the Penthouse Suite and was by no means enough of a problem to counter the other positives.

We stayed here early this month and what a great stay it was. As others of said at first it doesn't seem like much, but once you get onto the grounds and start to experience the hotel and the STAFF you'll be glad you did. As many others have said the staff and extra really make this place what it is. Lily and Danny were super nice and helpful. We absolutely be back!

This is a spectacular find in pricey Santa Barbara, especially for so near the waterfront. Every feature is lovingly cared for with an eye toward European charm: room décor, small pool & jacuzi, lobby, grounds, carport. And so many generous touches: free wifi, continental breakfast (with yogurt, cereals, pastries, hardboiled eggs, coffee, tea), happy hour cheese & wine, evening fresh-baked cookies, and 1000 free DVDs to choose from.
We would come back in a heartbeat!
