I was in town for a funeral and expected nothing more than a clean room and an average hotel. Unfortunately, that was not the case. When I checked in the staff was friendly showed me a map to my room and sent me on my way. When I got to my room maintenance was working on the door and when I looked in the window the bed was unmade. I go back to the front desk to tell them the room was not ready and the front desk agent says "the computer says it is." Fortunately the maintenance worker followed me and confirmed the room was not ready. The agent then gives me another room next door to the first. Upon first inspection the room looked fine. Later in the evening I was looking for my sons toy under the bed and found dirty clothes/sheets that a previous guest had left behind under the bed. If that wasn't bad enough when I called housekeeping to retrieve the dirty items he found a used condom wrapper in the drawer next to the bed! When I wrote to corporate regarding this horrible experience I received a can response stating my comments would be forwarded to management. Needless to say I will not be staying at this Holiday Inn or any other Holiday Inn brand hotel in the future.

I couldn't have been happier staying here. We usually stop in Santa Barbara but the prices are so high for just a place to sleep on your way from San Diego to San Francisco. This place was perfect. They placed us in the back of the hotel where it was very quiet. The room was beautifully remodeled. The beds were comfortable with great linens and a choice of pillows. My husband commented on how he liked the sheets and he rarely complements a bed. The wi-fi is strong and fast. The heating worked well. The room was spacious with flat screen TV, desk and lounge chair. (The only suggestion I would make would be to have 2 luggage racks instead of 1 in the room). We felt that we were in a higher end hotel. The woman at the front desk couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. We walked to the Outback Steakhouse for dinner which is just a short block north on the same side of the street. Denny's is almost across the street. We noticed lots of places to eat, an Albertson's supermarket nearby, all within a short distance. We would definitely stay here again!

Stayed here on business trip for two nights in early December 2012. I did not have a choice where to stay so made do with what I was given as I had read the reviews and was a little fearful. My room was clean and had been updated not too long ago. Bed was fresh, although the pillows were a little too fluffy and could not be punched down. My only complaint was the wireless, which when I go back tonight I will complain about and see where it gets me. I use an iPad and it seems the hotel has not updated the way the server works with Apple products. I wish hotels would realize Apple products are not just a fad. I have a feeling I will not get any relief for my problem except maybe to be offered "did you try control, alt, delete?" Which never solves the problem! Any way, the hotel was adequate, the staff nice and that's about all anybody can ask for today. No breakfast in the morning which was kind of surprising.

Hotel is in dire need of a major rennovation. They have had last started to change out the old CRT TV's for LCD though, which is a move in the right direction, but this hotel is old, old and very old. It is like going back in time when you reach your room. I have to say the rooms are clean, but the carpets must be 10 - 20 years old at best. I note that the bathroom taps appear to have been changed though. The Wi-fi is intermittent at best, but at least they do not have the audacity to charge like some holiday inn properties. The staff though are great, very friendly, very helpful, especially the lady on reception who had spent some time working in England. Get the rennovation done, and my group will be back.
