“Great Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2013

Just returned from a 2 night stay in the Craftsmen Room. The owner, John, was friendly and welcoming. I loved the unique room we stayed in. The private entrance was great and we enjoyed the private spa on the patio. The bed was amazing and the sheets were incredibly soft. The only the downside was the small bathroom, but that didn't bother me at all.
I really loved how breakfast was brought to our door in a cute basket. Most B&B's we stay at serve breakfast in the common area.
The location was perfect as we could easily walk to State Street. I would stay here again!

My wife and i stayed here for a night on our road trip along Highway 1. The owner, John, is an ex-New Yorker, and a real character. His banter, and wisecracks come thick and fast, but try to keep up. Santa Barbara is gorgeous. If you find yourself there, we visited the court house for stunning views of the sunset. After that we had really nice wine and cheese at Intermezzo, and then a very nice evening meal in Brophy's. The White Jasmine Inn has ample parking space, a very nice garden, and is well located. The room we were in was a little twee, but if you dig floral patterns, then you'll love it. The breakfast was well worth it, a basket of fresh fruit, home-made muffins, and a really nice frittata. We would definitely stay here again.

This B&B was just what my boyfriend and I were looking for - reasonably priced, great location, comfortable and clean. The owner even up-graded our room for free! The breakfast was home-made and delicious. Great experience at this Santa Barbara B&B.

Room Tip: We highly recommend the Wild Rose room, which had a fireplace and a partial mountain view.

This place reminds me of the Bates Motel from the movie Psycho. The Innkeeper with his Norman Bates personality was unpleasant and hard to understand. If you make a reservation at this place you better not cancel, because you'll still be charged for the room plus fees. That's the way the people that run this old place with small rooms roll.

My only regret was having to leave this lovely, peaceful place. It was great to leave the car in the driveway and then walk wherever we wanted to go in this beautiful city. We were within walking distance of the downtown shopping area, a vast array of excellent restaurants and theaters, etc. The breakfast was delicious, and the accomodation was very comfortable and quiet.

Room Tip: We preferred the room in one of the adjacent houses. We had our own private porch for our breakfast...

We were made very welcome at this lovely inn. We had booked a suite in one of the additional properties across the road from the main house. It was lovely. The breakfasts provided were like mini picnics and because they were delivered in a basket, they could be enjoyed in the gardens, main house or your own room. The weather was lovely and we chose the pretty garden every time. We were welcomed with wine and cheese and met with other guests which was great as they gave us lots of recommendations for places to visit as we continued on our travels. John told us that Santa Barbara offered a huge selection of restaurants and he wasn't wrong! It was difficult to choose from so many great places but we chose Opal (recommended by a local who gave us some directions along the way) which was great. We also ate outside at a Mexican restaurant across the road from Opal on the previous evening, which was also good but more casual. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the White Jasmine Inn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
A big thank you to John

Room Tip: We stayed in the Summertime Suite which was great. Our friends stayed in Castaway which was also ver...

Stayed here on our first night in California. Called by without a reservation and was delighted to find there was a vacancy. Stayed in the seaside room Lovely large room with en suite jacuzzi bath. The owners were so helpful and recommended a local restaurant to us. We had breakfast in the garden the following morning Delicious! There was also wine and snacks offered in the main house where we met other guests All in all a lovely stay in a unique place.

Room Tip: Ask to be shown all the available rooms so you can make your own choice.
