“Upbeat and friendly restaurant with great service and food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

My husband and I ate here the day after arriving in the US from Sydney still in a jet lagged state and just wanting a light meal. I had a delicious vegetable soup with crusty Italian bread and my husband had a pasta which he also was pleased with. We then had desserts which were wickedly wonderful. Service was quick and friendly and the waiting staff seemed to sense our depleted state and were very patient with us. We also had a chat with the manager and/ or owner who was out there himself looking after guests.

“Must try this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

I had the chicken parmigiana which was good. House salad was great. Hubby had swordfish chowder and he LOVED it. He also had a pasta dish with many types of seafood which he loved also.
Wine was great. Service was excellent

“How can anyone get pizza so wrong?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

Visited on a Tuesday evening. Staff friendly, decor a bit faded but just about OK. The LED fake candle on the table should have been a sign of what to expect!

3 pizzas ordered - all terrible. They were very small which turned out to be a blessing. Covered in cheap, nasty, stringy cheese with some unidentifiable slop passing for vegetables on the so called 'Garden pizza', which had no tomato pizza base at all. The pepperoni pizza was flavorless with a soggy base.

The worst meal we've had on this trip to the USA. The second point was only awarded because the staff were friendly - though they didn't question why we didn't eat it.

“Huge Disappointment!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013 via mobile

My taste in Italian food runs the gamut. I can find the good in chain food restaurants, but prefer authentic Italian food. With that said, I found their food to be pretty bad. The atmosphere is wonderful, but the food left a lot to be desired. I believe there have to be better restaurants in the Santa Barbara area.

“Late lunch in Santa Barbara”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

Aldo's is very conveniently located. We went there for a late lunch after doing the Court House tour. Though we had read good reviews about it we found the food average - perhaps our expectations were too high,or the chef had left for his own lunch!
We did not stay for dessert, particularly since there were so many options close by.
