“Good wine, and great appetizers!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

We have been here a couple of times now for wine and apps. They have a very good wine list, with some of their own brands. The appetizers at happy hour are fantastic, with large portions ready for sharing. The artisan cheese plate was great, with grapes and pears, and the mussels with chorizo in a spicy broth is to die for. This is served with toast points, and made for a delicious way to wet the appetite!

“Good food, a little pricey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

The service was good, the food was not bad. Pretty good happy hour. The entrees are a little pricey for what you get, but it is Santa Barbara...

“Bad service and Bugs”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Drove down to Santa Barbara to have a nice lunch with my wife's son and his girlfriend before he goes back to College in England. It was supposed to be special but instead pretty much ruined when his girlfriend first noticed a lot of dirt on the spinach leaves which was bad enough but then as she pulled off the leaf it revealed a large CATERPILLAR in her salad ! This pretty much ended the festive atmosphere, especially since they were not very apologetic. No manager came over to apologize, no comps no free dessert, no "We are so sorry this should never happen." The statement of "We wash the lettuce." rang pretty hollow. They did comp the one sandwich, which was the bare minimum they could have done. I always thought that this place was great (as we go there often when in SB) but now unfortunately I will have to re-think things. I never understand (having worked in restaurants for ten years when I was younger) why places don't take care of customers when something like this happens, If we never go back that represents thousands of dollars lost when they could have fixed it with a loss of the $102.00 bill for the other 3 of us (pretty pricey for a lunch that included caterpillar.

“Generous portions, good service, curb appeal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

We ate an early dinner at the Wine Bistro last night and were surprised at the enormous bowl of happy hour mussels that arrived, and nice quality too. The hummus appetizer was also generous and tasty, as was the chicken sandwich. We appreciated the selection of happy hour items, as well as the variety on the full menu. And to top it off, the service was attentive and cheerful, and we really enjoyed the people watching while we ate. A nice experience.

“Good Chili here!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

Terrific vegan chili, nice service, good wine list. My spouse liked his crab cakes a lot and he is picky... We went in a group of four and the waitress even split up our checks, which was much appreciated.
