“Foggy Lunch at Moby Dick Restaruant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

8 of us on a motorcycle road trip ate here for lunch this past Sunday. Nice lunch menu, prompt and friendly service, great atmosphere, and reasonably priced. To include outdoor seating --- I'm guessing that the views were spectacular --- yet given the thick fog --- it was hard to tell! In summary, given the premiere location on Stearns Wharf --- I expected a "touristy" / mediorce type facility -- yet pleasantly surprised with the quality, service, and friendly personnel.... a little pricey ($15. burger & coffee)--- yet expected given the location. PS....the charbroiled burger was one of the best I've had! I highly recommend this restaurant for lunch!

“Over rated”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

We stopped by here to have dinner. I must say, the best thing about dinner was the view. The waiters were not at all attentive, couldn't even get a water glass refill. There were three waiters, one took the order, one served / refilled the bread (he was the better of them), and the other dropped the food on the table. AFTER we had eaten, the first waiter asked if my husband wanted another beer. I guess because the answer was 'no' then we didn't get water refills either. No one ever stopped by to see if the food was ok. We had the seafood platter for 2, which was all deep fried. I left feeling quite greasy and irritated with the bad service. It seemed that each waiter was trying to do as little as possible.

“Seafood delight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

We ordered the oysters rockerfeller that had crunchy bacon on top, yum. The seafood platter under the appetizers and shrimp/crab louie. All the food was well prepared and we didn't have to wait too long. Our server was attentive and kept our water glasses filled. Great meal for two for $84.00 including tip.

“Great views from pier at sunset”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We had dinner at sunset by the window. We had the fried calamari with chipotle sauce to start. Then for our entrée, we had the fish and chips; and the white fish with crab meat and cilantro rice. The meals were served with bread (served hot). The service was good and very friendly. We ended up watching the end of the final four, as the restaurant had a large flat-screen tv (for us sport-lovers). Overall the food was average. However, the view from the pier and service was very good.

It is a good option over some of the busier restaurants on the pier and definitely worth the nice views. As far as I saw, dining was indoors only, but had large windows viewing the Pacific and Santa Barbara were memorable.

“A pier end restaurant that doesn't sting you for the location . .”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

Had a VERY enjoyable meal at Moby Dicks - reasonably priced beer and a couple of delicious steaks. What was surprising was the modesty of the bill - usually a pier based restaurant will make you pay for the location! Having been stung in a San Fran tourist trap the day before (it was too wet to go walking out of the Fisherman's Wharf district), the service, food quality and value at Moby Dicks was very well received by us!
