But the hostess & the roving manager is not quite as personable. A little snooty, perhaps. It was a Sunday night. Our last restaurant meal in Santa Barbara before we head back to the Bay Area the following day. We've been to Bouchon in Yountville & we want to see how this restaurant compares. We almost paid the same amount although we had two full courses (appetizers & entrees) at Bouchon in Santa Barbara. Boyfriend had 2 glasses of wine. While at Bouchon in Yountville, we had it tapas style & ordered the foie gras before it got banned, a salad & we split an entree plus 3 glasses of wine between the two of us. Service at this Bouchon is wonderful! We split the baked brie (skip it - nothing spectacular about it), my bf had the french onion soup & I had salad. Entree was the often-mentioned duck for me while the b.f. had the steak. The duck was really excellent. So flavorful & juicy. My b.f. also enjoyed his steak - that's why he had to have another glass of wine. We didn't have room for dessert. So stuffed that the following morning, I just had a veggie drink. If we go back, I would definitely request for the patio seating.
