“What's the matter with TripAdvisor recos?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013 via mobile

You've gotta be kidding! Thus place is highly overrated, expensive with below average decor and bland food! There are way too many better choices in SB than to have to waste your time at this place.

Beer (local brew) was bad, tortilla chips were way too salty, out of a bag, the tofu salad was tasteless and the veggie lasagna was mediocre at best. At least it was expensive!!!

You've been forewarned now.

“Great healthy menu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

Diverse and healthy menu of hot and cold food items. Plenty of offerings for many palettes. Soups were creative, as were pasta plates.

“Varied Menu, great value and friendly, pleasant ambience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013

We are mainly vegan. We eat fish occasionally (twice a month maybe), dairy only if there is no choice (i.e. something cooked in butter or a little goat cheese in a dish) and an egg or two weekly.
So - it's not a religion.

This place suited us to a tee. Pleasant, informal with an interesting and varied menu that went from vegan and/or gluten free to red meat. All dishes looked original and interesting and they were all priced fairly. This is a cafe not a restaurant and the atmosphere was casual, laid back and the clientele varied. This is a cafe I would vista 3 or 4 times a week if I lived here.

Highly recommended for all all palates.

“Dessert Heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

We were taken to Sojourner's by some friends for dessert. The ambiance is not frilly, but the desserts we tried were all incredible. It seemed like the kind of place that earns its keep with the locals instead of the tourist crowd. In typical SoCal style, there were options that were gluten-free, vegan, raw, dairy-free, sugar-free, etc, all indicated by different symbols on the bottom of the menu. We tried the Lemon Pie, the White Russian Cream Pie, Pumpkin Bread Pudding, and several sundaes. All were really tasty!

“Can't wait to return here each time we are in SB!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

We love Sojourners. Years ago it was the only place we knew that had interesting vegetarian food. (They are not exclusively vegetarian so you can go with meat eating friends, and they will get the best of meats while you enjoy terrific veggie meals.) This is simple but delicious food, fresh, responsibly grown so you feel you are helping keep the good food movement alive when you support Sojourner. This is a no frills place but with many really delicious options of good, healthy, reasonably priced and especially delicious food. It never disappoints!
