“A cute little garden tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

This is a large property in Montecito with a variety of gardens similar to the Huntington in San Marino except on a much smaller scale. Its worth it to book a tour to gain access to this charming estate. We sprung for the twilight tour with wine and appetizers which I would recommend to friends as a perfect little half day activity on your way to or from Santa Barbara.

“Outstanding experience.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

This private facility has an amazing variety of rare and unusual plants and themed gardens and the docents have all been very knowledgeable and personable. It can be difficult to get in due to the restrictions on the number of visitors per day, but it is well worth the visit.

“Very interesting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

You have to make reservation for the tour in advance. A docent will guide you around the beautiful different parts of the garden for two hours. Of course, you have to like cactus, pines and desert plants. You still have a small rose garden and a beautiful path with lemons. It smells so nice

“One of the world's great gardens”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

Well worth jumping through the hoops required to visit (advance reservations are necessary). Incredible mass plantings of mature succulents and other plants. Has to be seen to be believed.

“a most extraordinary garden”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

Lotusland provides a varied and unique collection of gardens ranging from one of the most exceptional cycad gardens in north America to gorgeous Japanese, coastal California, to topiary, to....... Developed by a very colorful woman who fancied herself an opera diva, but seemed to have her best luck marrying money ( 6 different times) this private garden is a must see. However, there are restrictions on numbers of guests so that reservations are essential
