“Worth A Couple Of Hours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2012

If you are into history and trivia as I am, the Maratime Museum is worth a visit. I enjoyed learning about Santa Barbara's past and seeing models and replicas of some fo the water craft that helped mold that history.

“Excellent museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2012

What a fabulous find. Provided an outstanding overview of the maritime history of the area as well as all the problems that development has caused. The ship models were outstanding as well as the commercial diving exhibit. Very happy that I took the time to visit. Our 14 year old granddaughter thought it was extremely interesting.

“Condensed version of central coast and California history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

This little museum packs in a number of exhibits on the history of the central coast from the native tribes to development of Santa Barbara. A section focuses on the commercial diving industry based on SB while another section explores surfing. There are a number of ship models and info on the Channel Islands.

“Small, interesting!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

This museum is appropriately located on the yacht harbor with restaurants nearby.
A lot of history represented, including that of the trading vessels that traveled the coast. Whaling history, plus mock-ups of boats and vessels, along with a lot of large models.
It takes about an hour or so to go through.
