I stayed here on an overnight business trip. Arrived later in the evening, around 9:30pm to find a small, packed parking lot.

Turns out there was one space left, but the hotel front desk did let me know they'd figure something out if in fact the lot was 100% full.

Pros:
-Very clean
-New/new-ish remodel
-Comfortable bed
-Quiet rooms, even with people chatting in the hallways
-Great shower (dual head setup w/ rain shower head)
-Free WiFi with acceptable speeds (I tested ~5mbps)

Cons:
-Fairly small room, but it was plenty big for my needs. Reminded me of several Italian hotels I'd stayed in.
-Surprise $14 parking fee
-Small parking lot may be an issue if you tend to arrive later in the evening like myself.

I've stayed at a few Indigo hotels in Canada and the US. The rooms are always small (small for Americans, decent size for Europeans) but very well equipped. Don't count on any view, however. We had a nice garden patio (view=surrounded by trees and flowers). Could not have been more pleased with our choice. Hotel staff was very accommodating and kind. Location is perfect if you want to do wine tours and walk downtown.

This is a relatively new hotel walking distance to the beach and a stones throw from the train station on the main Street in town called State St. It is much like a European hotel in terms of room size. Don't bring a big suitcase or you may have it stored in bed with you. But furnishings are modern, with clean lines and functional. Multipurpose everything abounds. A closet, slash, minibar slash coffe maker slash safe occupies about three square feet of space. The bathroom has a toilet, sink, shower all accessible by moving the glass door to block the toilet when showing, also blocking the toiletries and towels. Just a tad bit tight and cumbersome.

Staff are pleasant and helpful. Location is great and their adjacent resturaunt has just opened.

Beware though, this hotel is almost on a functioning train track. If you get a room on the north side of the hotel, the provided ear plugs won't help you. The vibrations and sound will lossen any dental work not securely fastened.

Now why am I seeing red? Internet doesn't work. In a modern hotel! I know many will come here without the need for connectivity but it was advertised and the front desk was clear that they have it. And they do. But it is so slow all operations on my computer time out. I can do nothing. And there is no excuse for this in a brand new hotel.

We've stayed in the various smaller motels in SB and decided to step up a bit for our last trip. The hotel is very nicely fitted out but as others have pointed out, the rooms are small. Don't expect a stunning view either. We had an issue with a loose and leaking showerhead which was quickly fixed.

The beach is 2 mins walk away and if you walk North on State St under the underpass (a little dark but seems perfectly safe to me) then you hit the main drag with all the shops and bars.

The staff recommended some good restaurants including Eureka, a burgers/craft beer place and Los Arroyos, a Mexican just off State on W Figueroa. Santa Barbara Roasting does great coffee and Backyard Bowls next door is well worth a visit. We always head to Sushi Go Go in the harbor.
