We really enjoyed the way our suite looked and felt: beautiful and comfortable with picturesque views from the balcony. From the bedding and fireplace down to the french doors and spanish architecture this was a remarkably romantic getaway complete with idyllic sunset and sunrise beaming gently into the bedroom and incredible on-site dining this resort we highly reccomend. The staff was helpful from the beginning.

I have stayed here several times. The most recent time was in the fall of 2003. Each time I stayed there I had great service and felt like they would do anything for me. One time I even stayed there for FREE when they gave away a free night to former guests to commemorate 9/11.

The only problem is that the price is a little higher than it should be. Also, if you stay in a room overlooking the pool, you may have noisy kids waking you up early. I think a no-kid policy at some of these places would be perfect!

Our family made reservations for 6 people to stay 4 nights. Reservations were made 5 months in advance. Two weeks beforehand we were contacted and told that the hotel could not accomodate us for two of the nights as they "had contracted with a private party". While they offered to put us up somewhere else, this seems to be a resort that couldn't care less about their customers.

Shame on them.

My family has stayed at the Bacara Resort Four or five times, and had an enjoyable time always. When the resort first opened the service was lacking and needed refinement. Our last stay was great and service has greatly improved. I will say that i think the hotel is over priced and the Miro restaurant needs a menu change. I plan to return as often as i can.
