I am not one to write reviews, but after staying at the Pacific Crest Inn, I feel as if I need to express my views on this place. My husband and I took a trip to California to explore along the coast. Last minute we decided to stay in Santa Barbara and I wanted to stay somewhere near the beach. Due to this being an overnight stay, I figured we just needed somewhere to rest our heads at the end of the day. In booking this motel, I went to their website and checked out their pictures, I thought what a cute place. In addition, I read some reviews, reviews that were both good and bad. I mean I've stayed at places where they are just good for a one night stay. So I booked the room. When we pulled up I thought the motel looked extremely outdated, but I mean this is a hotel that is right next to the beach so I didn't have a problem with that. Check in was fine, and our room was nothing like it appeared on the website. Wicked small, but appeared to be clean. Am I surprised that it didn't look like the picture on their website, no not at all because hotels and motels all do some type of misleading the consumer. My husband and I went out to explore Santa Barbara and returned for a nights sleep before we set off to our next destination. Well, trying to get a nights sleep suck. First of all there is a train that passes through and is loud. I didn't hear it in the middle of the night, but if you are a person that likes to go to bed early or sleep in the next morning, this is not the place for you. Second of all, we had the pleasure of listening to a group of drunk guys being drunk at 2 in the morning. Apparently there is no security here and the police had to be called. Thirdly, my husband woke up to a bug crawling on him twice. When we turned on the light, there was a bug right there. I knew there was a reason why I felt extremely itchy throughout the night. After we saw the bug, I then noticed blood stains on the sheets. I thought maybe my husband scratched himself and was bleeding as a result. However, he did not scratch himself or have any dried blood on him. After seeing on this, I just could not go back to sleep. In speaking with the guy at the front desk, he was very understanding, which was nice after a hellish night. The only great thing about this hotel is its location. It's right near the beach and about 1.5 miles to stearn's wharf. This is an easy and doable walk. I really enjoy visiting the west coast, but will not stay at Pacific Crest Inn again just to save a few bucks.
