“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Loved the hotel which was across the road from the best beach and we had an oceanfront room which I would recommend. It is walking distance to the pier or the town (about 1/2 mile). The pool and the staff were very friendly. While this isn't the newest type of property, we actually really liked it. The only turn-off was the parking fee. FYI, there is no great lobby area but the staff was especially nice.

It is very easy to find off of the highway heading north.

Room Tip: We stayed in a separte building apart from the main hotel and it was really quiet. We actually over...

“UK - California Fly Drive Family Stop Over”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

A nice friendly hotel, that ticked all the boxes after a long drive down from San Fran. The car valet guys were great as were most if mot all the staff. The pool area was great for the kids and the location on the beach strip was ideal.
Rooms were fine, perhaps a little dated in terms of decor, but the place had a great feel to it. Very welcoming. Bar staff were also very friendly, being a brit, that always helps.

The gym was well equiped and clean.

My only reservation was that the reception staff were not as knowledgeable as perhaps they should be as regards the local area. Where to eat and where to go???

Lucky for us we met a young valet called Tony who helped us out. Great kid, just the sort of quality people that sell hotels like this. Would defo stay again.

“Not up to Hyatt standards”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012 via mobile

I'm actually checking out right now and looked online for some way to rate this hotel. It's across the street from the beach, but not that nice. We paid $15 to self park, but there were no spaces left. So, we parked on the street and wasted the money. The beds at Hyatt are usually really comfortable, but not these. They are very old, squeaky, and I tossed and turned all night. My husband ended up sleeping on the floor because the bed was so bad. When he looked in the closet for the extra blanket, it was all stained and gross. Then, they started knocking at 9:00 wanting us to leave so they could clean the room. Check out is at 12:00. They knocked every half hour even though we told them we'd leave at 11:30. Don't stay here!

I am very sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your stay with us here. I hope that you were comfortable talking with our staff about the issues you encountered. Our front desk agents are more than happy to refund the parking fee if guest do not end up parking in the lot. I agree that the issues with your room are unacceptable to our standards. If we would have known we would have worked towards resolving the situations right away. Thank you for taking the time to write about your experiences. Our guests feedback is invaluable to us. “Hotel stones throw from beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

Very friendly & helpful staff, rooms are a good size and very clean. Restaurant and bar serve delicious meals. There is a pool and hot tub too. Hotel is in a good location for the beach it is just a walk across the road. The buses and trollies stop right outside to get to other parts of Santa Barbara, also there is a handy shuttle bus from Santa Barbara to LAX which stops right outside

“Good Central Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

The Hyatt has a good central location, the rooms are comfortable and appropriate for the brand and price. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The ocean view rooms are worth the extra price in my opinion. The beds could use an upgrade. The wifi connection (in the northern most building) was so weak as to be almost useless. This was apparently a known issue to the management so hopefully they have taken action on it.

Room Tip: The ocean view rooms are worth the extra price paid using the e-upgrade offered when making the rese...
