We stayed in The Sandman Inn for two nights as a stopover on the way to San Diego and I have to say the hotel and service were outstanding. The staff at reception were extremely friendly, polite and informative.
Our room was spotlessly clean, equipped with spare toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo etc.
The buffet style breakfast, which was included in the room price, was amazing and included cereal, a range of juices, eggs, pastries, bagels, pop tarts, cereal bars, fruit, waffles, breakfast burritos and sandwiches...the list goes on.
The two pools were really nice also and were kept really well.
Free juice and coffee was also available at a self service desk in the main lobby which was cool and there is also a complimentary DVD rental service with a great selection of DVDs!
There’s a shopping mall about five minutes down the street and also numerous restaurants on the same block as the Hotel. We took the bus to the beach, which took about 15-20 minutes.

We absolutely LOVED this place and didn't want to leave!! Would definitely recommend it to anyone coming to Santa Barbara!!

I recently stayed at the Sandman Inn with my parents and daughter while moving my sister into UCSB. This quiet hotel was a great value for our budget (especially for the 2 room suite). The service was appreciated, the diner was wonderful (but could have been a little longer rather than closing at 10am. The continental breakfast was a unexpected surprise.

The only downfall I have was that the electronic key cards kept locking us out! We kept having to go back to the front desk to activate the key cards.

I was wonderfully surprised at what I thought would include budget ammenities for the budget price. The Sandman Inn was clean, quiet, upgraded interiors, comfortable beds, and a variety of breakfast food which was included in the price. We found toothbrush, toothpaste, and razor offered along with the other regular bath items. Outside both pools and grounds were immaculate. The staff was friendly and helpful. Also free Wi-Fi which helped us map out the places we were headed to. I wish we would have stayed longer there! We will definitely be back.

My boyfriend and I recently did a road trip around California. We were on a budget and opted for cheap and cheerful accommodation; somewhere to put our heads down for a night or 2. We appreciate that you get what you pay for and so would have been happy as long as it was clean and functional.

The Sandman Inn was all that and more. The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful; advising us the where to go and how to get there. The room was really nice, plenty of space, clean etc. The hotel communal areas were well kept with a couple of nice pool areas and hot tub.

We wanted to go into Santa Barbara without the car so took a bus from outside the hotel right into the centre. It was really easy and relatively cheap. The hotel told us where to get on and off and how much etc.

The hotel has free Wi-Fi and DVD rental service. The breakfast had plenty of choice and was nice.

I would definitely recommend this hotel; we really enjoyed our stay and it overall excelled our expectations. Really pleased and would stay again if we were to return to Santa Barbara.
