What a wonderful find! Right in the middle of downtown Santa Barbara, steps from fabulous restaurants and shops, a small boutique hotel with real customer service.

Yes, it is old, but it is kept up very well. My room was spotless and the bathroom was pristine. I would have liked a small fridge, but that was all that was missing.

The breakfast served traditional hotel food, but the breakfast room (which is actually the lobby) was spatious and elegant.. The absence of a television set was duly noted and appreciated. Also, tables were spaced far enough apart that conversations were not audible to others.

I should note that light sleepers might be bothered by street noise, especially on the weekends. My room was on the 4th floor and during only one night out of the three did I hear anything from the street below (and it appeared to be just one group that was making all the noise).

Just stayed at this hotel for the Santa Barbara Half marathon weekend. It was a great boutique hotel right in the heart of Santa Barbara. Very close to lots of shops and restaurants (all walking distance). It's also close to the finish of the marathon so it works well for race logistics. The staff was very friendly and always helpful as we had a bunch of questions about the town, where to eat, etc. We also had a bunch of luggage since we were travelling with a child, and they unloaded it from our car and had it brought up to the room.

The hotel has a nice breakfast in the morning with bagels, juice/coffee, pastries, waffles, muffins, and fruit. The rooms are a bit small (at least the single queen room was). The room decor wasn't anything special, but it was clean. If staying here I would recommend getting a larger room as my friends had one and it was decent size.

All in all, one of my best hotel stays. I only wish I had gotten a slightly bigger room.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The service was friendly and helpful. The hotel is a little old, but kept up quite well. The room was comfortable and a fair size. The noise from the main street can get quite loud so would recommend a room facing the back of the hotel. Breakfast in the morning is good with fresh waffles. Location is very good, you are right on main street and about 15 minute walk from the beach.

I have stayed in Santa Barbara many time over the last 8 years to visit my children who attended college and now reside there with my grandson. In August I required surgery and needed some special assistance which the Management and Staff so graciously and readily provided. The Hotel is centrally located in the downtown close to great dining and stores. The beach and piers all within a short walk or trolly ride. Hands Down, the Best Place to Stay!!!!!!!!!!
