“Great Main Street”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

It's lined with trees and plantings, great street furniture, tile work, well proportioned buildings, interesting shops and historic buildings. the main downside is that all the homeless folks hang out here.

Love the nice weather and strolling along looking at the shops and the strange people. Food is good along this street but expensive

“Great walking/shopping street in the middle of town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Long ago this was the highway. It's hard to imagine, but Santa Barbara survived two major earthquakes. One in the early 1930s was immortalized in song. In the late 1950s cracks were seen in some of the taller buildings. Two great historic theatres host the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, going on now. The multiple balcony Grenada and across the street the Fox Arlington which has a Mexican Village inside and an archway where the screen is located. A long covered walkway leads you to this theatre. An outdoor mail further down State Street contains a Nordstrom, along with numerous smaller boutique shops. Parking lots are a half block away on either side of State Street. If you follow it all the way down to the Ocean you'll be able to drive onto the Wharf.

“One of my favorite downtown walks ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

Imagine one street with an eclectic mix of boutiques and high end stores and then throw in a mix of great restaurants and bars, you have State Street. From morning til late night, there is always something to do on State.
