“Perfect size and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

I love this zoo more than any other...it's not too small and not too big..and the view of the ocean from some locations just makes it more enjoyable. It has most of the major animal interests...gorilla, lions, elephants, giraffes...and all the creepy crawly one's, too. The only issue we had was that they seemed to cater more to the school field trips than to just normal visitors. We bought a train ticket upon entering about 10am and they told us we couldn't go on the train until 11am when all the schools were done. Then when we came back at 11am, a sign said not open until 12 noon. Didn't seem fair as they didn't warn us about this at the ticket window. I'd skip the train, it didn't show much anyway. The food was good although pricey..we had nice thick juicy hamburgers. We enjoyed our trip there.

“A perfect little zoo!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

Small enough to easily walk and see everything. A great selection of animals. High on a knoll overlooking the ocean.

“Local zoo, out of the way.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2012

This small but complete zoo was beautiful, as most everything is in Santa Barbara. A bit hard to find but worth it once we got there. A great way to spend a day enjoying the animals and the scenery.

Very quaint, your kids will love it.It doesn't compare to zoo's in large cities but locals love it.

I've been here before and it's a nice little zoo. Has all of your regular animals. The penguins are really fun
