“goes back in time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Old stagecoach stop in the mountains over Santa Barbara. Serious biker stop on Sunday afternoons, with music and good chili. The road "154" is patrolled by CHP constantly so take a designated driver or beware! The food is inconsistent lately, but the chili is usually good. Can't be ver romantic is restaurant but wear jackets if winter.

“Tavern, Historically great, food average”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013

The trip to Cold Springs tavern on the way to Los Olivos is a great place to stop for lunch or dinner. The place was an old stage coach stop and for that reason very interesting. However the food was a disappointment. I had homemade split pea soup and the peas were not cooked through and the soup was watery. No effort was made to offer a substitute or credit my bill.

“Yes, cold!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

In the hills above town and definitely rustic. Very popular place but I personally feel a bit more cleaning wouldn't go amiss. Heated only by fireplaces and building is really nothing more than logs and boards, so if you go in the winter, (yes, even though it is California), try sit close to a fireplace . If you like character and history it is a fun place to experience.

Cold Springs Tavern up the mountaintop is not only an adventure to get there, this old Stage Coach Inn has wonderful food in a one-of-a-kind atmosphere!
