Have been there before. Good menu selection. Perhaps a little pricey for my tastes, but food was good

“The better choice for hill side dining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

There are two restaurants on the hill at the east end of Chapman Ave. One of them mistakes itself for a dining experience, charges for the privilege and delivers an experience not up to the expectations raised or the price charged. You're better off instead going to the Orange County Mining Co. They are much better on delivering on their premise of mildly themed western steak and potatoes. Expect Lone Star or Black Angus but with a view. I compliment the bar for a strong pour. All in all, this is a pretty good place to take a date who likes red meat and doesn't require you to impress her. Stick with the basics, steak, baked potato and a salad and you'll be happy, this isn't the place to push the envelope of cuisine, but for hot dead cow with a view, you could do much worse, and not too far away.

“Perfect Dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2014

I went here the first time with my mom for her birthday and we both love this place. The salad bar is awesome with a lot of choices with just only $8 and you can eat as many times you want. The view from the restaurant was beautiful. It took quite long time- about 15mins- for our dishes to be served but it's worth it. The food was really good and not expensive for an American restaurant. At the end of the dinner, I asked the waiter for a scoop of ice cream with a candle light for my mom's birthday. They did not charge money for the ice cream. Our waiter named Brian and he was really nice guy.

“Great view, mediocre food, poor service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2014

When we pulled up to the parking lot, there was no denying the great view. I felt like we should bee teens again and make out in the parking lot overlooking the city lights. We had reservations for 7:40pm, took them about 20min to get our table ready. We had a party of 8 so I understand the delay. No biggie. Have our table got to see the great view out the window while the other half got to stare at the wall. This place is probably better for couples or smaller groups. The food was average and over-priced. The dessert portions were large. I would be willing to pay more money for the food if the service wasn't so bad. Our waitress forgot to give us more bread and never gave our table the coffee they ordered. I felt like we would request something, the waitress would smile and say she'd be right back, then would never come with said item. On the plus side, when Disneyland has their fireworks, the people facing the window can see it in the distance. This place is good to experience once, but with so many fabulous restaurants in socal, we probably won't be visiting again.
