“Don't care too much”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

Went in for dinner when we stopped over at San Simeon. We chose this place because of the 'better' review than the other restaurants. I honestly don't think that the food is any good, nor the service. The waiter didn't even refill the drinks, didn't even say thank you when handling us the bill. A place that I would just eat, leave, and forget about it.

“Great Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

We stayed at the hotel and ate here. We had the dinner specials which were delicious. Breakfast was good also. The service however was awesome. Very friendly and helpful staff.

“they call this food”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

i was a guest at the cavalier hotel and had room service, since there was no additional charge, let me tell you this place is terrible,i had the spagehtti and meat balls, the sause was runny, no real flavor, serious, PREGO OR RAGU make better sause for bottled, the garlic bread was soggy was laying driectly on top of my spaghetti, should have had been serverd on a seperate plate, the meat balls were small and came with only two, had no seasoning taste just like CHEAP GROUND BEFF, serious i have had better frozen meat balls! actually dennys has better spaghetti and meat balls and they come with 3 decent size meat balls,

also the clam chowder soup taste like canned, and it is was luke warm, if you want better quality food and delicous clam chowder, not canned, go across the street to motel 6,- sunset grill the food is better then the cavailer any day and, better prices!!

The management could care less about complaints, i called to complain and the manager could care less how I felt, Any good resturant manager would have offered to comp. me a meal so they can try to reedem them shelfs, I have worked in many resturants in my time from fast food to coffee shops to fine dining and when ever one of my customers was not satisfed with their food I Invite them to come back and give us another chance! Cavalier could care less about how you feel about their food, (no appoliges at all,) and when you drive past this resturant also past the El chorlito (Read seperate reviews) and head to the sunset grill, both of those resturants need chef Gordon Ramsey help,

“Just the restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

Sorry but we didn't get to try the hotel although it looked great, fantastic location truly right on the shoreline of beautiful California, but we did try the restaurant almost by accident actually. We were leaving the Hearst Castle area and needed something to eat and spied this place.Pulled in for a quick bite, pretty good food, all in all. Although we don't really eat hamburgers that often we read that the beef was from the grounds of the castle so what the heck. The meat was quite good, great flavor and we enjoyed it a lot.
The service was good, very prompt, people were quite nice and we were pleasantly surprised...oh a decent enough wine list as well, try it, you'll like it and it's better than driving quite a distance to another place.

“Nothing special but convenient and pleasant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013 via mobile

We stayed at the hotel overnight and just wanted a simple meal. The menu was varied and they allowed us two ladies in the party to share the fried chicken - it was very crispy and not at all greasy but nothing extraordinary but one wouldn't expect that anyway. One of the guys had a beef pattie sandwich and hated it so ended up sharing the other chap's fried chicken too!! The service was very good indeed - nothing was too much trouble and at least it was a quick walk back to the room.
