“Amazing delicious food in a fun experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2011

We were suggested this place by a winery in St Helena and stopped on our way back to San Fran. We dined at the smaller place, enjoying the atmosphere and the weather. The food was quick and so delicious! Great portions sizes, a good sized menu and awesome prices. I will definetly go back again and again! The plantainos with chicken and pink beans was mouth watering.

“Terrific service and AWESOME FOOD”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2010

My girlfriend and I visited the smaller location for the first time we loved the whole experience. The service was outstanding and we sat at the bar outside watching the scene. The garlic shrimp was to die for and so was the limeade. Like others, we should have ordered just one...they are huge. Can't wait to go back again with the family.

“Best Place to Eat...Period”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2010

Sol Food specializes in the art of simplifying food. From their plantains, savory or sweet, to the chicken plate or Cuban sandwich, this food is the best. The restaurant is a little strange on the outside, with a green facade that may remind you of anything lime, this is not the place to judge a book by its cover. You order your food at the counter, or tell your order to a waiter, and pay up front. Then, after sitting down for just a few minutes, your food is presented on these brilliant white plates. Everything is great, especially the atmosphere, with authentic doors, pictures, and flags just imported from Puerto Rico. It is a nice escape from the suburban feel of Marin, and transports you to a different land. My recommendation: the chicken plate, served with beans and rice, a salad with the best dressing ever, sweet or salty plantains (I prefer sweet) and chicken just simply cooked. This food blew my mind the first time I had it, and it is now my favorite restaurant. They deliver to your house ( which we have done for parties), but I prefer eating at the restaurant to get the whole feeling of the food. So if you like fantastic food and an authentic Puerto Rican experience, go to Sol Food and be blown away.
