Booked a night at the Best Western Coyote Point Inn because I needed a room close to SFO and my regular hotel near the airport had unreasonably high rates due to a large convention in town. Although the Coyote Point Inn is right next to US-101, it isn't all that easy to find because the street it's on is not a heavily commercialized strip. In fact, forget being within walking distance to any sort of restaurant, coffee shop or convenience store. There is nothing nearby. The area the four-story hotel is located in has a few other chain hotels and local housing and that's it.
The hotel has a small parking lot out front and a parking garage underneath the hotel. Most importantly, parking here is FREE. The rooms are well appointed...my king room had a sleeper sofa, a microwave and a better than average sized refrigerator. The bathroom was larger than other hotels of this class. Water pressure is decent and as usual, the bathroom ventilation is inadequate. The only item I would have liked was a folding luggage rack in the closet. The mattress on the bed was softer than I would have liked.
Reservations here include a free continental breakfast, which I was unable to take advantage of. My main complaint with the hotel is that the signage in common areas is very poor. I found a man in the garage wandering in circles because he didn't know how to get to the elevators. Luckily I saw a small sign on a door when I drove in, but there really should be a lit sign hanging from the garage ceiling. Likewise, when I took the elevator to the first floor, there was no sign directing people to the lobby, even though this is the first look most people will have of the hotel after parking in the garage. Finally, there was no hall signage on my floor (the 3rd) directing me to the elevator lobby. I literally walked past it twice before finding it.
Overall though this is a better than average property and I would consider staying here again on a return trip through SFO.
