“Great Staycation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

My Wife and I usually get down here for a getaway one weekend a year. The weather is always great and the atmosphere is so relaxed. Rooms are big and so amazing. Dog friendly which is a plus and some rooms have enclosed patios so the dog can run free. We love going to the pool and then to the restaurant for a late dinner and finish with wine by the outdoor fire pit. Such a nice place to get away from it all.

My husband and I stayed one night at CordeValle. We chose the property because we were driving back to Orange County from the Bay Area on a Monday and wanted to stay south of the Silicon Valley morning rush hour traffic. We saw some good reviews and booked the room. The property is beautiful. It is known for being a great golf destination, but for non-golfers you're not overwhelmed by everything "golf". The pool is lovely, the restaurants are good, and the staff is top notch. The rooms are very nice and the beds are extremely comfortable. They have what you would expect from a luxury resort: cozy robes, slippers, well appointed bathrooms, and walk-in closets. It was a bonus to have a wet bar with a small refrigerator. We checked out wishing that we could have stayed a few days to explore. It was a tranquil escape, even if just for a night. We will be back.

LOVED this place. We stayed for one night, took advantage of the spa and ate on site. I cannot wait to go back. The attention to guests from the staff is exceptional. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and private. We had wine on the private patio with friends before walking over to dinner. If you get the chance to do smores on the patio, do it. YUM. The guest room bathrooms need to be updated ( 4 inch square white tiles - yuck, my only complaint) but the spa tub was lovely. My massage was wonderful, but remember you will be sharing the locker room with country club members. I thought the 60 minutes massage was over priced, especially since it is not part of the resort fee. Love the resort fee - reasonable and covers all your tips for bell staff and cart drivers etc. Small & Intimate, very romatnic, but we would have no problem takign our toddler next time and I am sure she'd be treated like royalty

Room Tip: The smallest rooms they have are HUGE - plenty big for you a couple and one or two young children.

My wife and I spent four lovely nights at Cordevalle. Our room, #46, was a villa overlooking the golf course. Except for one night, we had all of our meals at the hotel, and the food was outstanding. We played golf three times, and the course is really a top golf course. We especially appreciate having the caddies help us along the course.

Room Tip: We stayed in a villa, but the bungalows( a little smaller) were very nice as well

Like other reviews - it is a hidden gem...No doubt, it's a nice golf course and all the amenities of a 5 star resort. It's definitely focused on golfers, tennis buff and wedding parties. However, we've found it pleasant just to hang out at the resort and meandered. It's not meant as a family retreat, but we've found it pleasurable and fun with our 7 years old. She loved the private golf lesson and her coach, Sean was awesome and great. Please see the pros and cons below:

Pros:
- The service was excellent as you expect from a 5 star resort, but they were genuinely happy and very tentative and that made a difference
- Golf course
- Tennis
- Private golf lessons (they take it seriously - not just "golfland")
- The Art walking tour
- Tour of the resort was very relaxing
- The evening views from our room was beautiful and relaxing
- The Beignets were the best and yummy (had it every day)
- Room was very spacious
- Ride on the golf cart was just as fun as a ride in disneyland for our daughter
- Near Monterrey/Carmel area (we've spent the rest of our weekend visit there)

Cons
- Hear the frogs very loud if you leave your french doors open (we love the sound of the frogs -but others may not find it fun)
- The food at One Iron Bar was good (3.75/5) but wish they had regular coffee, as I'm not into the fancy french press (excellent service though)
- Didn't let us have late check-out (we understand as there were only 45 suites all together)

This place is just plain excellent! Great friendly staff with outstanding service.

Rooms: Very spacious with a private patio and a fireplace!

Spa: As a guest, you can use the jacuzzi (indoor and outdoor), sauna, and steam room at no additional charge!

Food: We had dinner at Il Vigneto, and tried the Crab fest tasting menu. The food was great! We also had lunch at Lion's Peak Grill. It was so and so. Food was dry and a bit pricy.

Golf: Pristine course. A must play.

Overall, this is an excellent place and a must stay. I truly prefer staying here than other hotels in Napa. Great value. Already planning my next trip here in Feb.

Excellant service, surprise plate of chocolate dipped strawberries and split of Champagne brought to each of our rooms (3 of us...3 suite).
Relaxing, great food and views, we actually did not gof, but the course looked pristine. Beuatiful rooms, large tubs with jacuzzi, walking trails...a vineyard next door...it was ok. The location is close enogh to the coast that we dedicated several hours to a day trip.

Room Tip: the upper ring overlooking the entire complex...a small suite...very romantic if I had my husband wi...
