“Most creative and relaxing place in the area.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012 via mobile

So nice and funky at the same time. This is the place I go to create and relax. Their eggs and cheese wraps are yummy and the peanut butter cookies are worth the drive from anywhere. Staff is always nice and service is usually superb.

“A real cafe experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2012

There's Starbucks for predictability and then there's Old California Coffee House & Eatery for the real thing. Great coffees, including a ton of specialty coffees you never saw offered at a chain. The new cafe menu is great - personal preference being the scrambled eggs in a wrap with feta cheese and bacon (droooool). Live music at night and an eclectic hang out for university types, bible group types and the knitting group on Friday mornings.

“Coffee for dessert?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

Coffee for dessert? Why yes, thank you! So many choices for a sweet (caffeinated or not) end to my day. I love the Creme Brulee latte, it's delicious.

Outdoor area with firepits is usually filled up with teens and 20 somethings, but if you can get a spot, do it. Often someone is playing a guitar, so it adds to the ambiance.

Indoors has plenty of seating at tables or on comfy couches. I've attended some volunteer committee meetings there and it was perfect for us. Plenty of room to work and enjoy coffee at the same time.

“Coffee house with a twist paired with atmosphere and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2012

This is one of my favorite coffe spots. An old california-like setting with adobe furnishings, outodoor firepits and free wi-fi. Grab a coffee/ (their mexican hot chocolate is really tasty) and relax inside on their sofas. Their are a bunch of mini games / board games you are able to use which is another plus to burn time before your movie starts (Edwards Cinema located right around the corner). Sometimes they have live music on weekends, which makes this even more appealing. My advice: Great spot to dive in with a date on weekend evenings, arriving early before your movie starts to add more diversity to just a simple dinner and movie.

“Great place to hang out!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2012

Great vibe and entertainment on the weekend nights. Right next to the theaters and in restaurant row, so it makes for a great place to go and grab a coffee and dessert after a movie or dinner. Weekends get busy due to their live music which is always fun to cozy up to one of their fire pits and sip on your favorite hot drink and listen to as well. I love that they have lots of selections for lunch on their menu for vegan and vegetarians :) They even supply games to use while hanging out, plus wifi with purchase, in one of their many comfy nooks.
