Based on a prior favorable visit, my wife suggested we eat lunch at Chino's (now called Chino's Rock & Tacos). It was another sunny day in San Luis Obispo and the short shorts were out and the Rock 'n Roll was playing. The outdoor dining area was busy but no lines inside. We ordered 2 soft chicken tacos and a chicken & avocado salad (served in a taco shell bowl). Total bill was $17.68 including tax.
Once we were seated outside, one of the servers (dressed in skin tight black pants and a black T-shirt) promptly delivered chips and salsa. The chips were warm and tasty, not too many. The salsa was fresh and cold. It had a nice flavor and not too much heat. The food arrived quickly. The tacos were attractively arranged and very filling. The salad bowl was quite large and also attractive. The cilantro dressing was delicious and had just he right amount of "zing".
We had an enjoyable time people watching as we ate lunch.
Overall, nothing spectacular from the food side of things. The servers were friendly and efficient college girls with a good customer service attitude.
