We chose this hotel as a place to sleep while wine tasting around the area. It is not fancy, so don't expect too much. It is, however, easy to find, has friendly and helpful staff, clean and has a fridge and microwave. You should consider this place if you plan on seeing the surrounding area and simply need a place to lay your head.

Many motels/hotels in town, but The Sands is consistently good and well priced. Chris was very helpful and offered freshly baked chocolate chip cookies when we checked in. Since it was raining he also made sure we had a room near the office and that we could park in the covered garage.
The room was large, quiet and equipped with a micro-wave and small fridge. The included breakfast was in a nice room behind the office and consisted of scrambled eggs, sausage, juices, waffles, yogurt, bagels, pastries, coffee and cream-of-wheat. A great spread for a motel breakfast.

"Do you want a cookie?" was the first question Chris, the customer service person asked when I stood in front of him at the reception counter. He was friendly and very careful to write down the breakfast hours in the morning and also the wireless access. He then pointed us to our rooms..

The rooms were beautiful designed, clean and bigger than expected. All facilities work. The bed were firm.

Location of the hotel is great and not too far from the highway. It was not noisy at all.

We had a full breakfast with self made waffle, eggs station etc. really enjoyed our stay.

Will come again...

Clean good size room. Nice people and location. Small TV from last century! Was'nt in slo to watch TV, but next time ill bring my laptop, the screens bigger.
Pool too cold to use but looked nice.
Room price a bit high compared to other
Favorite but that hotel was booked.
