OMG This place is unbelievable!!!
Like another of the reviewers I read about this place in a book called "The California Club" by Belinda Jones, and thenb researched it when i found out it actually existed.
We stayed in Room 174 - Krazy Daisy and it is just sooooo pink!!! I would have preferred a rock room but they were clean out so i just asked for a pink one - and that's what I got - LOL.
It is so totally kitsch and beautiful. I was worried about my partners reaction as he always ignores my holiday planning but he loved it as well.
The room was really clean and all the added extras - Madonna Cake soaps, gorgeous furniture etc, were excellent. The bed was amazingly comfortable as well.
The only real bugbear I have is the lack of sound proofing after being woken up by the next door tenant speaking to the great white telephone next door - Blehh!!!
I don't know where the reviewer who whinged about bedbugs and cleanliness was stayin, but it couldn't have been here. - It was WONDERFUL!!!!
The restaurant is a sight as well - Bright Red and Pink - Twinkly starlights everwhere and a freaky doll swinging from brances - that was a bit too much Bride of Chucky for me - oooer!! Foos is briliant- I had Filet Mignon the first night and the New yorker on the second. Really good value for money as you get a soup or salad and a free plate of munchies(salami, veggie sticks, peppers & chilis) thrown in for the price.
The cafe is good for breakfast, humungous amounts of food and the staff are fast at refilling your coffee. Shops have a strange assortment of goods, fashion appears to have bypassed them!!
All in all - an amazing place. I'm going to have to go back, just to experience another room!!
