OMG This place is unbelievable!!!
Like another of the reviewers I read about this place in a book called "The California Club" by Belinda Jones, and thenb researched it when i found out it actually existed.

We stayed in Room 174 - Krazy Daisy and it is just sooooo pink!!! I would have preferred a rock room but they were clean out so i just asked for a pink one - and that's what I got - LOL.

It is so totally kitsch and beautiful. I was worried about my partners reaction as he always ignores my holiday planning but he loved it as well.
The room was really clean and all the added extras - Madonna Cake soaps, gorgeous furniture etc, were excellent. The bed was amazingly comfortable as well.
The only real bugbear I have is the lack of sound proofing after being woken up by the next door tenant speaking to the great white telephone next door - Blehh!!!

I don't know where the reviewer who whinged about bedbugs and cleanliness was stayin, but it couldn't have been here. - It was WONDERFUL!!!!

The restaurant is a sight as well - Bright Red and Pink - Twinkly starlights everwhere and a freaky doll swinging from brances - that was a bit too much Bride of Chucky for me - oooer!! Foos is briliant- I had Filet Mignon the first night and the New yorker on the second. Really good value for money as you get a soup or salad and a free plate of munchies(salami, veggie sticks, peppers & chilis) thrown in for the price.

The cafe is good for breakfast, humungous amounts of food and the staff are fast at refilling your coffee. Shops have a strange assortment of goods, fashion appears to have bypassed them!!

All in all - an amazing place. I'm going to have to go back, just to experience another room!!

I stayed at the Inn this past weekend for one night and the rooms were smelly and old. My parents stayed in room 162 and My husband and I stayed in room 163. We did not book the room in advanced we just picked from what they had left. If you stay there make sure you book your room in advanced so that you wont end up with leftovers.
The staff is really nice and honest. My dad forgot his keys in the room and they were kind enough to mail them to us.

My wife read the book "The California Club" by Belinda Jones which referred to the Madonna Inn. Based on the views aired in the novel we decided that the Inn sounded a good place to stay next time we visited California.

We were not disappointed in any way. To say the hotel is unusual is putting it mildly. Our selected room was the aptly called "Just Heaven". It was a large circular blue painted room with a floral themed en suite bathroom, and to cap it all a spiral staircase in the centre of the room led to a cupola.

Each room has a different theme and a visit to the Inn's website is recommended prior to booking your visit.

We stayed for one night and elected to eat within the site of the hotel. The Inn offers two eateries a steak house which was fairly expensive and the Copper cafe. We would have elected for the steak house but the menu did not offer a vegetarian option for my wife. The food in the Copper Cafe was of a high standard and the cakes offered are not for those individuals trying to diet.

The Inn has a boutique for both sexes with most of the clothes offered at the higher price range. The obligatory souvenir T shirt can be purchased at a reasonable price.

The Inn is a photographers paradise with a visit to the men's restroom attached to the steak house a must for both sexes. The whole idea is refreshingly different and I would fully recommend a visit if you wish to stay in a hotel with a difference.

I should add that the steak house menu is offered in the Copper Cafe but not vice versa which was a shame as the accomodation offered was of a higher standard than the Cafe. In this day and age a vegetarian option should always be available in any establishment and therefore I can only offer a four star rating for the Inn.

We stayed here in Aug 04. Great place, definitely worth a nights stopover. There are some really great rooms but we stayed in one of the cheaper ones - Krazy Daisy. This room was fabulous - all covered in daisies & pink.
The Madonna Inn truly is a must for people travelling along the coast as you'll never stay anywhere like it. Staff are friendly and their website is very good for choosing rooms.

Went there for my 3rd anniversary and had a wonderful time. The room was great and the best part was when my wife and I saw a real live dear sitting behind our room and was tame as a cat. We loved it and we are looking forward to going there again in the near future.
