Ha to stay here last minute and feel I got a bit ripped off price wise. yet I would not say anything against the place. It wont blow you away but like most Travelodges it does the job.

Staff were helpful the little I dealt with them and the Breakfast beats getting nothing.

This is an older property but the rooms were clean and well kept. Bed comfortable.
The free wifi only required a passcode which was written on the room card sleeve.
The room had a window air conditioner of the older type without a 'constant fan' setting. This kind cycles on and off when it runs.

Did not use the pool but it was clean and well cared for, if a bit small like all the Travelodge pools I've seen. The pool was built by taking some of the parking spaces, and is a later addition. Parking lot entrance is one lane and might be difficult for larger vehicles to park.

The pool has handicap access in the form of a swivel chair. I've seen this at other Travelodges and is a nice feature.

Front desk service was average, they recommended that we eat breakfast at the Apple Farm a couple doors away - this was good advice because their own breakfast was poor, and consisted of stale cereal and toast. There were only two small tables in the lobby. We did not eat here, but I snacked on some of the cereal from the dispenser that evening and it was stale.

I call this "no free breakfast", if you expect a free breakfast look further for a hotel.

The downtown area is walking distance close, some nice food places nearby, but also several other hotels you could choose from before landing here. Our rate was $75 and I would not pay more.

For $100 in the summer this place isn't bad. Corner room helped with the ambiance for us - nice view of trees. Towels a bit worn, but beds comfy and room clean. Bathroom was actually spacious and nice. Within walking (8 blocks or so) of downtown, not a hard walk.

This hotel is easy to get to. The staff were polite and we stayed 2 nights here. Unfortunately we hot a noisy neighbour who woke us up both nights. The rooms are functional and reasonably clean. Breakfast was muffins, cereal, juice and coffee. Not exhaustive but ok.

Signed up through Hotels.com blindly. BIG mistake there. All the other hotels in the area showed no availability and we had to get a room for a night for my daughter's basketball tournament. Didn't want to chance driving 3 hours or more home if the games went late and started early the next day. I know the average hotel stay at Travelodge is like $80 so I was surprised to boo our room at $150 plus tax but I assumed it was something big (beyond our bball tourney) and had no choice since they were the only ones open under $200 for one night. On the way to our hotel, we noticed DOZENS of hotels with a "vacancy" sign in each sign. We were bummed cause we knew our hotel was pretty low budget and stared seeing what we could have had for the same price or a little more, some even less.
We pulled up and immediately saw some rooms open and maids working but the rooms were so dingy looking. We were worried. Then we made our way to the pool only to find it was closed cause it was green and filmy (in summer - yay!) and then we got our room. UGH! It smelled. It was small. It was dark and dingy and one of those places that no matter how much you clean it, it will never look good. It was loud at night as others stomped around above us, next to us, air conditioner, etc. and the mini fridge didn't work which sadly, we found out the next day after we put stuff in there that needed to be kept cold :/ ANd the continental free breakfast was a cereal chute at the front lobby with some coffee and juice and milk. Pretty bad folks. I asked the manager why it was so expensive and all he said was that it was summer months. Ok, so why is Travelodge costing as much and more as other hotels much nicer across the street? No answer. I got gouged by Hotels.com and Travelodge. Found out others got the room that check in day for half the price. People talk a lot more when you don't give them a nice breakfast to stuff in their mouths ;) Stay away!!! There are so many other decent to nice hotels in the same area for the same price or less, or even ones a bit more expensive but give you full breakfast, happy hour bar, clean nice roomy rooms etc. NEVER again will I step foot in a Travelodge, esp. San Luis Obispo. I also won;t go to Hotels.com again. GOt ripped big time!

Room Tip: Across the street at Hilton Gardens
