I was in Avila for a month and ate at this incredible restaurant 8 times! Service is amazing and the food is EXCELLENT !! The back patio is romantic and fun, November nights can get down right chilly In November in Avila but the quantity of heaters keeps the outdoor patio feeling like indoors. A must..

My first visit ..party of three including two locals..and with later film reservations the staff cooly moved things along for us. Due drizzle we stayed indoors though the patio area looked so nice and inviting we considered one of the big umbrellas !
Place was uba cool-great looking cocktails at the bar....some matching clientel as well...and our food-"pacific rim" style arrived in good time and looked and tasted wonderful
The bill was modest considering and would strongly advise anyone to try it...prob best to prebook in the evening though

We stopped for dinner on our way back from Motnerey to Los Angeles. We picked Novo because of the gluten-free options, a necessity for me. I had the petit filet and it was delicious, well presented, and served with pride. We were just passing through but I would definitely patronize NOVO if I lived in the area. A worthwhile experience, my thanks to them.

We were a large party of 9 and the staff was wonderful in getting us seated quickly on the outdoor deck (we had a reservation), and then checked to make sure we had enough heat from the portable "umbrella" heaters. And our waitress was amazing--separate checks did not faze her.

I had a greens and vegetable salad with grilled salmon which was perfectly done. Another friend had major dietary restrictions which the waitress handled with quiet competence. Someone else had the scallops special and raved about it. We were all satisfied. There are lots of restaurants in SLO, but I would happily return to Novo.
