Description: Splash Cafe ~ Artisan Bakery is located in San Luis Obispo, CA. In 2005, we opened this second location in San Luis Obispo and expanded to include an artisan bakery too! The bakery features artisan breads, pastries & desserts baked fresh daily. Each item from the bakery is carefully created and guaranteed to delight your senses. The café has a larger selection of salads and specialty sandwiches as well as signature ‘sun pizzas’! Come and enjoy!

“Charming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

Not as crowded as the Pismo Beach location and a more charming venue. Good clam chowder but very expensive for a very small amount. Looking around, seemed that the clam chowder bread bowls were on just about every table. Order at the counter, find a table and wait for your name to be called. Nice outdoor seating.

“Little gem!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

This place is great, the food is absolutely delicious and the portions are generous. The food is really reasonably priced and the service was quick so there wasn't a long wait! I had the chicken strip and chips and my husband had the chowder bowl, we were so full up!

If I hadn't been in for dinner I would definitely have had a cake, they looked DELICIOUS!

“Local Comfort Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

This is an offshoot of the Splach cafe in Pismo Beach. The Pismo location had a line out the door and around the block at lunch time. We happened into this second location and were pleasantly surprised to be able to walk right in. The clam chowder was very tasty and if you get it in a bread bowl, they toast the chunk of bread that the inside of the bowl and serve it on the side - I thought that was pretty cool. My son had clams and chips and my daughter had fish and chips. Both were typical fried foods, but the fish was very fresh, moist and delicious. They also have a large display of desserts that look amazing. I will return again next time I am in the area.

“Yummy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

The clam chowder in sourdough bowl is in my top 5 list of comfort foods ever (extensive research done & ongoing!). Rich, warm, creamy and flavourful. The bread bowl was toasted very nicely as well. We also enjoyed the ahi tuna fish tacos; they were a bit more filling than expected. We returned another night to grab some pastries for dessert - the blueberry cream cheese danish and chai lattes really hit the spot. Service was pleasant and prompt. We only wish we lived much closer, or that we were in town longer to enjoy some other meals here.
