“Awesome experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

We have recently eaten here again after visiting a couple of years ago and having a similar excellent dining experience. The first time we visited with our teenage children we were really impressed with the food and drinks selection. We decided to visit again while in San luis obispo and were equally impressed again. The food was well priced, delicious and accompanied by great drinks for us all.

“Great burgers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

My wife and I recently ate here and loved the burgers. They're Angus beef and I believe they might have been a third of a pound, a good size. Plus the cheeses, toppings and breads for the buns are a nice selection you don't always get with burgers like mozarella, portabella mushrooms, sprouts, garlic bread or ciabatta to name just a few choices.
Unfortunately for my wife who is allergic to Gluten, all of their fries are battered. This is one of the only places she can't eat fries, so we'll hope they make changes to that eventually, as the fries were very good but surprisingly don't come with the burgers. Had to order them separately.
We liked the high ceilings (18 feet?) and woodwork around the bar. The Happy Hour menu is great with plenty of food apps and drinks on special. They also have a nice area upstairs for eating or bands in the evenings.
We enjoyed it and will be back, but not after trying some other burger places in SLO.

“Our favorite hangout in the area...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012 via mobile

Mother's is one of our favorite places to hang out in downtown SLO; we especially enjoy Happy Hour-the nachos or sweet potato fries are especially good & for a full meal, you can't beat their burgers! If you have a large group, go upstairs & relax in a comfy setting....we've been coming here for years & this us "a go to" place when in town.

“Great happy hour, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

We dined here one evening to use a Restaurant.com coupon I purchased a while back. Even though the coupon was not recent (it had no expiration date), the manager gladly accepted it. We were just in time for happy hour and enjoyed a couple of craft beers for a mere $3 each. Although we were alone in the restaurant, we waited quite a while for someone to bring menus. My husband even got up and brought them over himself :( The food server was STILL serve! It's a good thing the beer was so good.

That being said, we ordered a shrimp quesadilla as an appetizer, jambalaya and to be honest, I can't remember the 2nd entree. The food was good-fair, the beer was great, the bartender was very friendly, the service was mediocre. We will probably go back, but just for happy hour. Sliders and $3 craft pints -- what else do we need?

“Local Tavern”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

College kids and locals like this joint. Worth seeing. Various entertainment; average food; great place to dance. Downtown San Luis Obispo - walkable to any place in town.
