Last night 6 of us went out to dinner and we wanted to try something new, we chose this place as we had seen the great reviews, so we made reservations for 7pm. It took them about 30 min to bring us the bottles of wine we ordered, we never got any bread as they had run out (who has ever heard of an Italian restaurant running out of bread - for heaven sake there is always pizza dough they could throw in the oven as small rolls or a larger flat bread), the first time they wanted to take our order we were not quite ready, however, it was 40 minutes before anyone came back to take the order. While we were waiting for the food, we ordered another 2 bottles of wine and that took about 20-30 minutes before they came back with them. At this point they changed servers and the gentleman who then took over was great but after 2 hours of miserable service it was a bit late as our impressions of the place were already tainted. A little after 9pm we finally started receiving our food. The food was fantastic and luckily it was hot. In the other half of the restaurant there was a wedding reception going on, but if they knew the staff would be stretched that night they should have just closed off taking reservations (our's were made 3 hours ahead) so that they could avoid irritated customers as we also saw people leaving before their meals arrived. Fortunately here in San Luis Obispo we have several fantastic Italian restaurants where we have always received great service, so we will not have to come back here.
