I love the Apple Farm and come here multiple times a year. My one complaint this trip is a game the hotel has during the holidays. Guests are encouraged to find the missing elf, Dash, in exchange for a chance to win a two night stay. A little elf doll is hidden in the gift shop for guests to find. The problem is I twice witnessed the gift shop staff telling certain guests where Dash was hidden. As a result, they are essentially selecting the guests who will be entered to win the stay. Not fair. They shouldn't have the contest if it isn't fair for everyone.

San Luis Obispo is a quaint down to earth town, and I cannot think of a better place to spend time in this town than the Apple Farm Inn.

This property has a charm of its own with extremely friendly staff, quaint old style rooms, with a fireplace and well appointed but not luurious decor.

There is a gift shop with a host of interesting articles and the restaurant serves tasty and hearty food.

If possible ensure that you vis San Luis Obispo on a Thursday night so that you can visit the night market downtown wher you can walk around and savor some of the fresh produce, street cooked food, and relaxed and friendly people walking the streets.

This was our second visit to the Apple Farm Inn. The first was 20 years ago. We have always wanted to return and we finally did. We were not disappointed. We love the atmosphere. We loved the decorations throughout the entire hotel. We loved the very well decorated rooms. We stayed around Thanksgiving time and it was already VERY WELL decorated for Christmas. We have stayed at many places during the Christmas Hoidays and have never experienced such a VERY WELL decorated hotel. The entire place was a Country Christmas Wonderland! The service in every aspect of the entire hotel was excellent and impecable. We were truly amazed at the friendly staff. There was always a friendly offer of coffee, tea, sweet treats, etc. available in the lobby for snacking.

Our room was outstanding. Each room is very well and wonderfully decorated in a country theme. The rooms were noticably well cleaned and prepared each day. They really pay attention to details. ALL-in-All, we hope that it will not be another 20 years until we return. We love it there.

Something to keep in mind...We were in a renovated "king" bed room on the upper (3rd) floor. Excellent and worth the couple extra dollars. The bottom (1st) floor is "BELOW" street/lobby level. Kind of basement like. Keep that in mind.

The Christmas decoration is truly unique and I have to say we liked a lot that idea.
We loved the fireplace in our room!! Excellent idea with free tea, coffee and cider in the lobby.
Rooms are clean and spacious, staff very friendly and seems to be very well trained.
The only minus is the restaurant. Steak was way too overcooked, duck confit not very tasty.
Roomservice breakfast for two was close to $US 50,- which I believe is little too expensive.
